ShanghaiExpat gladly announces cooperation with Guanxi

We here at Shanghai Expat, after much negotiation, are happy to announce a new partnership with "Guanxi", the SMS-based bilingual "Mobile City Guide". We hope that our new users can reap the benefits of this cooperation.

If you don't know what "Guanxi" is, you haven't been around Shanghai for very long... Guanxi, in some form or another, has been around for years and is now operated by mInfo Inc(www.minfo.com).

It allows users to use their mobile phones to SMS English, Mandarin, or Pinyin keywords to Guanxi, in order to search for listings in various cities across China. They also provide some other useful services such as SMS weather forecasting.

Subscribers can send the keywords (eg. name of restaurant) to Guanxi (106695882929) to get a reply with the relevant address and phone number. For example, if you were to read about a new place on ShanghaiExpat, send the name of the place to Guanxi, and can get the address in English and Chinese (taxi driver approved :).

For newly registered members at Shanghai Expat who have not used Guanxi before, they will receive one FREE MONTH of Guanxi service to try out for themselves. Lookup as many places as you want. Special instructions are provided when you register with a new mobile number.
