Chinese silk coats and dresses are back in style. You know those ones, with mandarin collars. I just had one made at my favorite tailors. Danielles on Fahuazhen Rd just off Huaihai. It's pretty good. My wife just bought a really nice blue coat with the collar from a local vendor on Nanchuan Lu (Pudong).

It appears people cannot get enough of them. All the shops (especially women's clothing shops) along Shimen Rd and at Xiangyang Market have started stocking. Of course, they have been updated a bit. For women, long dresses (reminiscent of Shanghai's heyday as a glamouor town) or pants suits, for men silk jackets with madarin collars. Very cool.
