Regarded as the symbol of Shanghai for hundreds of years, it is the waterfront area of Pu Xi (West City) that faces the newer part of Shanghai - Pu Dong (East City).
Walking along the Bund at night is a fascinating site, as the entire PuDong skyline is illuminated, including the Oriental Pearl TV Tower and the Jin Mao Tower (2nd tallest building in the world). Directly across Zhongshan Road are many different types of architectures from Old Shanghai, including: Gothic, Baroque, Romanesque, Classicism and Renaissance.

Located at the People's Square, the city's heart, the Shanghai Grand Theatre has become a representative building in Shanghai. The building seems to be made almost entirely from glass and the reflections of artificial and natural light are simply stunning. It hosts major national and international concerts and performances.

An interesting tour of where the city has been and where it is going. It shows how Shanghai will look like in a couple of decades. The centerpiece on the 3/F is a huge model of the city as it is now. In the basement, old Shanghai is rebuilt with house entrances, cobble stone ways and operating shops and teahouses.
