Would love to play soon in a public course. I need directions and transport advice tho. havent been here long enough. Love the game and reasonably good at 7 Hcp (Home club). Havent played for a while but promise not to hack.
How does one get in touch with keen players here in Shanghai? |

I'm in for a round before it gets too cold -- have a few friends that are all shooting around the low hundreds. Would be great to get some more phone numbers for impromptu playing. We sometimes play at Hongqiao GC on Mon mornings when they have a special -- 9 holes for 200 rmb. Who's the ringleader? |

9 Holes for 200 rmb what about 18? I used to work in a golf-related industry and can get pretty decent green fees at clubs such as the Orient which is a standard 18 hole course. Isnt' the one in Hongqiao just a par 3 course?
I wouldn't say it's warm just yet but does anyone still look at this thread? I'm pretty average but would like to get a group of ppl going if possible heh. |

it's only a 9-hole course, but is not a par 3. if i remember correctly, there are some decently long holes and some trouble, but not too much. main hazards out there are people gabbing on their phones, not taking care of the course, smoking and leaving butts everywhere.
where is the orient? i'm up for golfing even now. it's been really warm recently.
drop me a PM if you're interested |

Looking to play at any course almost any day! Decent golfer looking for others near the same (about 10 hcp) PM me. I am a member at Bin Hai but it is a long way. Would love to play Tomson as it is very close, but any course will suit me. |

Hmm a 10 handicap eh? I might be going on April 6th during the Chinese holiday. There is a course out in the middle of NOWHERE (Suzhou to be exact) that I have a friend who is a member at. She can get us a green fee for 350 rmb I think fer 18 holes. If anyone is interested by all means post! |

What handicap are you and when are you available to play? What price range can you accept for a round of 18 holes? |

Cheers for the reply. Play at the weekends, i haven't played consistently for a few years now so prob about 19/20 hdcp, maybe even worse....not sure on prices of courses over here, i used to pay the equivalent of about 300 RMB for 18 in UK. Is that reasonable?? |

If you are looking strictly for weekends, you will not find any course for 300 RMB if you are not a member. Low-end courses cost 700-800 on weekends here (such as Hongqiao and Orient Golf Course) and the better ones like Sheshan and Tomson cost 1200-1400 RMB. Even if you are a member at Sheshan you still have to pay 300 RMB each time you pay for caddy/green fee/cart. The cheapest course I can get is Suzhou Three Suns for 480 rmb on a weekend, and a decent course worth its salt would be Sun Island for 670 on the weekend.
If you can play on weekdays you can generally negotiate much better deals with a sales representative from the golf course, or if you can get a 4-some going I can hook you up. I can get lower-tier courses like the Orient for 385 on a weekday.
I guess the moral to take from this story is if you want to play golf I strongly recommend you play on weekdays only because price deviations are 100%. |

I agree that golfing is more expensive in SH than US. A few years ago in BJ, we normally spent RMB 450 to 650 for the weekday morning games (walking) in low to mid level courses. I think Orient for RMB 385 is pretty good. |

Yeah, like i said though that's weekday ONLY. Orient on weekends can still go up to nearly 800 rmb on the weekend, and c'mon you can play at courses like TPC back in the states for that amount. Orient would be your typical state-of-the-art public golf course for 20 or 30 bucks lol... |

Hi everyone
I will be staying in Shanghai in Aug, but will only have one day free, so I will not be able to look around much. I was hoping to get an A grade nike fake club set with bag and shoes. Can anyone give me some tips where to find this, or any other brand? Is the fake market at the S&T Museum still open? Will I find this there?
I'd really appreciate it! Thanks! |

If you are interested PM me. I would need you to send specifics though such as models, of Nike Golf irons and drivers you're looking for, and the specifics on shoes and golf bag.
A budget would also be good too. |
