This event, open to all EXPATS, is still happening weekly. Come out and meet new friends and share experiences about the challenges and adventures of living here as an expat. All newbies welcome.

Quote:
This event's intent is to give Expats and their families a chance to meet each other, hang out, and compare notes, to basically help make the experience of living and working in Shanghai a positive one. Any expat is welcome, and any locals who will add-value to the above discussions are also welcome, but please, no commercial discussions will be allowed, and no soliciting by language teachers, nor language exchanges etc... you can do your own meetings for that.
This WILL be enforced as its is all about expats getting a chance to meet.

Peace- based on my knowledge of how little value you add to expat discussions and the like, you may want to consider reading the first post(quoted above) and the rules we have set in regards to local participation in this EXPAT coffee.

I might drop by - if my lingering jetlag has worn off and allows me to get up in time Smile
It certainly seems a nice initiative.

See you all there!

See you Seen... Bring some books if you can, we'll have the book swap again tomorrow.

Still looking for "the Audacy of Hope" if anybody got it. I'd love to buy or borrow

I've seen copies of that book being sold at some metro station, XJH stop, I think.

I believe Sunday afternoons are still happening, but you are posting in the Saturdy morning Coffee thread. Saturday mornings are definitely alive and kicking, as was today....

Saturday Mornings are at Cloud Nine Zhong Shan Park.

Sunday Afternoons are at Xin Tian Di

Hope you didn't get them switched around

I'd like to try to avoid buying fake books... IP protection, royalties all this.

Not that Barak Obama needs any of that money now... But then.

Cheers

^ only if you see it that way. The events are indipendant of teh online community in that the online thing is only a way to publicise what real people are doing in real life. SO unless who you are online is not you, its not a big deal.

I am planning to go 2/28. Sometimes few people, sometimes many. You really never know in advance, however, recent Saturdays the room has been pretty packed.

Well I gave up last Sat's coffee mixer for a nice sunny weekend at HK. Totally worth it! Heh, kidding!

Anyway, Pierro, when will the book exchange happen again?
