@Dazzz
Thanks so much for the info. Do you know a general going rate per game? |

I am going to a guy way out in Songjiang town to do it with a coworker that is taking me. It's his guy, and I really can't comment on his ability to take the key and put it on the other drive, but frankly it can't be that hard (but this is China...so take that with a grain of salt).
Like I said before, if you don't care about waiting I'll be doing this in a couple weeks and I could let you know how it goes. Otherwise I could get the guys contact info for you and you could be the guinea pig... |

For the prices you're paying.. I would just sell you a used console that has been modified as you need already ... and instead of switching drives you can just do the much easier switching of power and av cords... 850 RMB |

"eh, that's actually downtown, it's right near the office of a friend I go to see quite often.
Will post result here soon."
thanx scott!
Just called them, they say they just change it so you can play pirated games, but xbox live is still no option
well, I guess we'll have to continue our quest. |

bezoli -> 300 gets you a new DVD drive with the flashed firmware on it. The flash goes there not in the XBOX so if you want to play XBLive you need to switch to the original DVD drive that you didn't change and play real games, not copies.
Thats why marcus said it's easier to have two XBOX's. |

The price should be more like this:
New DVD Drive 90-105 RMB. I purchase them in small bulk (5-20) from the south for 74 RMB each - shipping included. I'm a foreigner so I'm sure the locals can get them for even cheaper.
Flash job: 10-20 rmb. Yes, that cheap. All they do is plug it in and hit start (laymen terms). It's easier to flash the dvd firmware than it is to sync an ipod - zero costs for them in doing it. |

^ The local Xbox guy charged this guy I know who brought his Xbox from the USA 400 rmb to flash/mod/and/or change the drive.
Did he get ripped? |

Super-ripped. 400 for just a firmware flash that cost the shop nothing and less than 5 minutes of time. It's very unlikely they chipped the console or changed the drive -- very very unlikely. |

So just wondering, say I use the normal drive and download DLC of a game, than I change to the flashed one, input the pirated dvd and I can play the DLC on that? |

Hey,
I'm thinking about buying a Xbox 360, games being insanely cheap and the new Jasper xbox being hmmm less likely to RROD.
Did some of you, Jasper owners encounter a RROD?
If not, did the price drop recently for those who investigated?
Thanks in advance. |

I've only been there once, but it had Skate 2 and called someone to get me a price on Guitar Hero World Tour. In other words more than any other shop I've been to has ever done. |

Speaking of which, can one get an original Rock Band 2 on the 360 here in Shanghai? (Just the disc, no need for the full kit) I went to the Beijing Lu shop about a month ago and they didn't have it then. |

I bought my Xbox 360 from the states and I tried using a convertor and it burned out my AC Adapter. Where can I get a 220V chinese version of the AC Adapter? Roughly how much RMB would it be? |
