| Post subject: The Attraction of Shanghai Bar Culture for Foreigners |
Hello everyone. This is Landy, a new girl here.
I'm currently a senior student at Shanghai Normal University and I am writing my graduation thesis which subject is about the attraction of Shanghai bar culture for foreigners. I'm trying to know more foreigners opinion on Shanghai bars culture, it will be really important to my study.
Since I don't know a lot of foreigners, I really need your help.
If you are willing to help a student's research, just take a few minutes to answer some questions, it will be very helpful for me.
Here is the link of my on-line survey:
http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/?p=WEB228VF93PRWS
Or, you can find the survey in attachment, and send to: sunrise_227@hotmail.com when you finish it.
I really hope I can make more new friends here. I'll be your best tour guide or Chinese teacher.
Thank you very much for your help.

I really want to thank you guys for your kindly help, cause just two days, I've got more than fifty valuable surveys. It's really unexpected and touch me a lot.
Many people writed a lot of pertinent suggestions which I think are very helpful for our bar industry to reflect on themselves and change it.
Most feedback mentioned the outrageous price, a short choice of drinks, and the hooker problem. I think it's a good thing to let us know about your real feelling, without these feedback, or complain, maybe they still think they are doing a good job and will never know what's wrong. That's the meaning of my study I think.
I hope in a near future we can change the bad impression of Shanghai bars and offer you guys some really nice place to let you relax yourselves, hang out with your friends, enjoy the music you like, and get everything you want...
Although there are many problems with the bars here, I still hear some positive feedback which makes me so relieved. In the "favorite bar"area, I noticed that many people mentioned Big Bamboo, Malones and Cotton Club. I'll be glad to share these results to you after my investigation. I think it'll be a good imformation for you guys to find some nice place here.
My survey is still continuing, I hope more people can involved in and share your opinion and advice. Because only by this, we can improve and make it better.
Thanks again!

I answered your questionnaire, but to be honest the bar culture here is one of the most unattractive I have seen so far in Asia. |

^ Absolutely. Shanghai is a disgrace when it comes to bars. The bars here try much too hard so everything seems contrived. Just a bloody awful bar scene here. |

Pretentious and seriously overpriced, with a total lack of service and common sense. Purely greed driven. |

Thank you so much for your feedback.
I know there are so many weak points in Shanghai Bars, that's why I choose this topic as my graduation thesis. Only if we know your opinions so we can change it and make it better.
Thanks again, your feedback is really helpful. |
