Buffet was 198++ with free flow local beer.
Decent spread.

It takes 2 hours to have a full 360 view

Found a place with reasonably good Chinese food, kind of a rarity in Jing An. 485 Yuyuan lu, on the west side, about a block north of Beijing xi lu. Nothing so special, just decent-tasting Chinese for a change.

Kagen Teppanyaki - Taojiang Lu
Teppanyaki cravings for the best in town.
Promotion is over, so its now 228/per
which is still best value, with good sake and good quality seafood and meat.

Four of us went to BIG BAMBOO Hongmei walking street.

One had the Chicken Burger

Two had the Meat Pies

My Wife had the Chicken Fajitas...and she ended up with sever stomach cramps, throwing up all night with diarrhoea (#7 on the Bristol Stool Chart)...she can hardly move today.

What to do...go there and complain?

Last 5 of us ( 4 adults and Aidan ) went to Dollar Shop hotpot at Cloud 9 mall - Zhongshan Park. Individual hotpots and a build your own dipping sauce bar. Long Line ( about 30 min to get in. ) Great fresh everything and well presented. Great choices. Decent service. The whole ticket for all of us to get full was 260. Will be going back and adding this to list of places to take friends from out of town.

Post subject: La Piazzetta

Check out the La Piazzetta if you like good Italian Food. I've now been there several times and have not been disappointed. Have tried the Lasagna, Spinach Cannelloni, Bruschetta, and sausage Risotta and all were as good if not better than all the Italian dishes I've sampled at various places in Northern Califonia over the years. Good soup too.

Owner is from a small town outside of Torino, Italy and his nephew is the chef. Its a little hard to locate (next to Party World in Shanghai Bay.. you need to go down an esculators to get there from the street), but I'vee now made that my favorite resteraunt to eat at here in Shangha (it helps too that its only a couple blocks away!).

Prices are reasonable. Most of the pasta dishes are in the 60-70RMB range. Pizza's are 68RMB if memory serves me. Service has generally been good , though last night they were crowded and i wasnt offered vinegar/oil for my bread or grated cheese for my lasagna. I was offered both previous times... so you might have to ask. Portions sizes are pefect IMO, I really dont like large servings.. especially eating out a lot!

The place is reasonable large and has a nice assortment of art on the walls. Overall it is the only Resteraunt I have been at in Shanghai over the last 5 months that i would strongly recommend!

the meat is really good - beef, lamb chops, prawns (yum) etc - thanks for the recommendation.

the buffet menu is quite limited though. the alcohol choices too, only 1 type of beer and sake. lucky i'm partial to ALL types of poison haha.

I just studied this recently and you can never tell what caused it. Because it takes 1~3 days to develop it (I am talking stomach flu, viral or bacterial, which it likely was).
