Johnny Moos
Corner of HongFeng & Biyun in Pudong
The kids had Corndogs, and we had Salad and a foot long Hot dog, add 2 scoops of icecream for the kids, and free refills on our sodas - it all came out to 116RMB...Great service, good food, and a super nice price!

I must have been lucky because for 11+ years here never had it until recently. Do not count occassional 1-day episodes.

it's at Shanghai T&D Ge Restaurant, No. 402 Guilin Road just beside the Trust Mart supermarket. service was excellent. staff were very helpful and friendly.

Cheeseburger at Malone's at Thumb Plaza on Saturday night was, despite my love of Munchies, absolutely fantastic. Munchies fries still streets ahead though but that Malone's burger is something special. Very Happy

Yunnan Food at Southern Barbarian 56 Maoming Nan Lu or 169 Jinxian Lu (the Maoming Lu address really just leads you to a plan that shows the way to the Jinxian Lu entrance).

Really good unpretentious little place. I liked the food but can't say too much about the standard as it was the first time I had Yunnan food. Spicy stuff but very tasty.

Not too expensive (we were 7 and ended up paying 590 including a substantial amount of beer...).

Xindalu. To be honest, I'm not impressed with the food. Took forever for staff to top up hot water and I paid service charge for "service".

Post subject: La Verbena, I can't get enough of it

Been to La Verbena, the Spanish restaurant and bar at Binjiang Ave., right at the Huangpu river, Pudong side, to the north though, a bit difficult to find, but right next to the Kitchen, if you Know what I mean.

Loved their warm welcome, always a nice bubbly before we sit down, and tapas such as raw and marinated tuna, suckling pig sandwich, sea salt grilled prawn Spanish style, scallop salad in a glass, and the black truffle pasta roll were just some of the nice ones that I ordered, almost every time.

With now the nice not too hot weather, it was a real treat to sit at the outdoor patio right next to river, sipping the sagria and watching the beatiful sunset that was so calming and at the same time invigorating, made me wonder if I was in Shanghai or in Barcelona, or Duesseldorf, depending on where my mind wondered. Smile

Went to Mado Isakaya at the new Langham hotel in Hankou Road. Food was terrific and the deal is amazing as it is all you can eat, sushi, sashimi and tempura for RMB 99 +. Really outstanding value considering the quality of the venue. This is the opening special offer. Get while you can because it will be gone in a few weeks time.

Russell, you obviously work there judging by your other posts so why not be honest about it? Otherwise you'll just put people off...

Went to T8 in Xintiandi last night. In general it was a good experience, the Perfect T 10 Cocktail is a hit, like a SuperTom Collins and suits the name. The appetiser (tuna) was very flavoursome, the mains well executed with only one niggle concerning the baked nori rolls with the Wagyu - odd choice of accompaniment. Still a lovely ambience and the manage Walter was very charming.

I had spasketti and a shrimp salad at Saliya last night ... nothing special but it's a phony-free zone at least.

10/10 for Mr & Mrs Bund. Brilliant to understand "Newcomers" menu. Giant Prawn in a Giant Jam Jar - knockout, Carpaccio excellent. Managed to make a plain grilled Chicken breast simply delicious and to top it off the best side salad ever tasted. Did no wrong.

Just moved form London to Shanghai. Went to Delhi Zaika tonight for Indian food which was utterly fantastic. The paya curry, lentil +chicken soup. Malai chicken BBQ. It has the best Tandoori chicken I have ever tasted and trust me Ive had plenty. Almost 125 yuan per head with drinks. Ambiance was ok but the food more then made up for it.
