Post subject: Vaccination in China

Do you have any expierence in vaccination/immunization in Shanghai? Which hospital is the best? How much is the consultation with a doc? Blood test for antibodies? Vaccines are imported or made in China... I was kind of sceptical about it but now in the age of swine flu/hep/HPV I started thinking maybe it is really worth to be done, so I would like to get an idea if I should do that here or go back home. If you have any info so please share with me.

There is only one of the three you mentioned that is possible to take a vaccine for. You are not vaccinated for Hep A and B?

Well I know I got some shots done. But it happenned when I was at school so I am not really familiar with what it was. That's why I would like to do a blood test for antibodies. To find out what I need and what i dont. And I am still not sure if the vaccination is really necessary stuff. I searched for the info in internet and there is no definite opinion if it is good or not. That is why I think I need to have a consultation with a doc. So can you recommend someone? What are the prices?

Besides Hep A/B there is also an immunization for HPV. What hospital you choose to go to depends on your budget/insurance/etc. If you have insurance or don't mind paying "foreign hospital" prices, you could check out Shanghai United or ParkwayHealth. If not, then places like Ruijin Hospital or Huashan Hospital have "Foreigner" clinics.
