| Post subject: Philippine Ayi, what to consider |
Dear all, I need urgently your support.
I’m looking for a full time stay-in ayi, all agencies I contacted never responded.
In the meantime I have some address from Philippine ayi’s, all living in China with a tourist visa.
Who would like to share his experiences with me or provide me some advices?
What do I have to consider hiring a full time ayi from the Philippine?
What is the legal consequence if they work for me with a tourist visa?
How can I support to extend the visa or bring the employment on a legal proper base (I think that they need to be registered at police office as well)
How is the health insurance handle?
Oh so many questions left and I am under pressure.
I would greatly appreciate any information, experience or advice.
Thank You

Don't do it - if she is caught working for you both she and you could be asked to leave China.
Impossible to get her legal here. |

You are out of luck doing this legally.
It is illegal to work on a L (Tourist) or F.
And the odds of the Chinese Government granting a work permit for a foreign maid are for allintents and purposes....Zero.
"Chinese jobs for Chinese citizens"
If one of the Chinese Ayi's or one of your neighbors gets a bug up their butt about you taking a Chinese job away by employing a foreigner and turns you in...
Deportation for the maid almost certainly.
Possible jail time and/or deportation for you.
Spend your energies finding a good Chinese Ayi that speaks english.
A little tough to find and you will have to pay more...but all in all still probably less than a live in Philippine ayi would have cost back in the day when they were allowed. |

Wow, this sounds freaky, I almost expected those answers. Thanks for responding,
Why do I look for a Pilipino ayi, very easy, I have no idea where I can get a stay-in maid from China mainland.
And she should take care children, thus not be too simple minded.
Any ideas for a reliable agency which can be at help?
Thank You

I would think that native English speaking, plus knowledge of what bacteria is and how it spreads, would be a great idea for a housekeeper. Heck, I'd settle for an Ayi that didn't throw my black and white socks in the same laundry load. |
