I'm willing to get a genuine CBSat system if one exists. But you gave me the impression that it's not for end-users.

So is there a way I can get a genuine CBSat subscription?
I'd prefer one that isn't bankrupt yet given a choice.
Thanks!

Post subject: To Satelite TV - need yr expertise

I have 4 dishes currently, 3 working, 1 out of subscription, 2 facing SE and 2 facing SW. The 4 dishes are connected to 2 Bolt receivers, one in my living room and one in my bedroom. The setup is wired so that I can view all channels so long as I put the relevant cards in the respective receivers.

I used to have dream and Dsky from the SW dishes, and asiasat with free to view channels and hua ren from Taiwan for the SE dishes.

Today only Dsky and Asiasat are working, dream is dead and hua ren is out of subscription.

I am moving to another villa in Sept and I would like to know if you have a solution for me. What I would like to have as a new setup are 2 dishes, 2 receivers, 1 in living room and 1 in bedroom but both can watch all channels provided the card is in the respective receiver.

For the channels, I would like to have all the dream channels, PGA tour, Channel news Asia, and the complete Hua Ren channels.

From what I read from the HBOCN website, it seems that they have the ideal solution in terms of subscription except that I would not have History and Animal Planet. It seems that HBOCN is a good compromise for Dream and Asiasat free to view channels combined into one whilst I can have Hua Ren as the other.

What do you suggest? I would like to have a legit system and setup and I do not mind paying the money so long as I get good service and no hazzles.

Animal planet and history are on Dream TV.

The DSKY package card costs about US$180 per year from DSKY and you can buy direct from them in China.

Dream TV costs rmb2450 with a new decoder with 12 months subscription.
You can email shanghaidream for Dream TV genuine deocders ruiky@public1.sta.net.cn

Asiasat3 is of course free to air.

However you cannot put the DSKY cards in the Dream TV receivers so you can still use your BOLT boxes for those. You can renew your DSKY cards directly from DSKY. email service@dsky.com.tw (unless of course you have pirate cards which are commonly sold by satelltie agents in China )

You would now have 4 receivers not 2 as no loger can the pirate bolt boxes access Dream TV and the Dream TV cards are married to the CRYSTAL BOXES or HOMECAST decoders they come in. So you can not move the Dream TV cards to different receivers they will only work in the ONE recoever they are PAIRED to.

So you could choose DSKY and Asiasat3 in your BOLTS and Dream TV in the Dream TV receivers

Does the Dream solution include PGA tour or any golf channel?

I noted that HBOCN claims that they have pga tour, asisat channels and the Dsky channels included in their solution. Is this true?

From their pirated systems on the ICBALE HK satellite yes. Not on Dream TV.

The reason they now do not offer pirated Dream TV is because Dream TV has changed encryption systems to prevent piracy.

Icable is soon to follow and cut off the pirated boxes as well.

There are other satellites that have all the European US PGA Asian and other live golf tournaments. However these require large 2.4m dishes so not practical for most.

However there are alternative systems avialable where you do not need dishes.

Why dont you ask your satelltie provider that you want to have the genuine decoders with the genuine pays cards in them for Icable and Dream TV and see what the costs are.

There are many providers carrying live golf which is not always shown on the PGA channel. BUt we do get everly live PGA event and also womens golf and other non PGA events.

Unfortunately not MAC compatible it is Windows.

However we do have SLINGBOXES for those who want MAC systems.

Streaming speeds again are on 2mb upload so expext to get around 1800 - 2000kpbs

Again, do you guys install satellites for apartments in Beijing?

I have a Mac Mini that I could possibly dual boot Windows on.

If I had a Slingbox, wouldn't I have to connect that to my Cable TV box in the USA? Or can it capture streaming media from other sources?

Image didn't come through.

Thanks.

A sling or HAVA can take in from many sources, satellite TV ( which is what I use ) cable TV or other inputs. Your issue will always be the GFWC and your upload speeds. My fiber links straight into China and there for no firewall issues. My clients are getting speeds at max 2100kpbs in China.

I do not install dishes in Beijing.

Also what content do you want as Dream does not carry US sports like this monrings pre season NFL game.

In order for a Slingbox or Hava to work, don't I have to have a working cable or Satellite box overseas like in the US in order to stream it to China? I don't have that currently, so then there's no point in getting those machines right? Unless they can access streaming content from other sources.

OK.

I like movies (HBO, Showtime), culture (Bravo, Discovery), the BBC. Maybe programs from Korea, Japan or Taiwan if subtitled in English. One of the few men who doesn't watch sports, unless it's the UFC :-p

Whoa Satellite TV, you just rocked my world! I consider myself pretty tech savvy, but I had NO IDEA this sort of streaming service even existed! Whenever I visit my friend in the US who has a Slingbox, it's plain annoying when his brother who lives in a different state starts controlling his TV. Never saw the potential of this gadget till now.

I'm very interested in your Mpeg4 streaming service. I live in Beijing but I assume that the service will work anywhere in the world. I bought a Mac Mini with a Blackmagic video recorder to act as a DVR as Tivo doesn't seem to work here. Would you recommend a Slingbox or a Hava? I could dual boot Win XP onto the Mac Mini in case the Hava is better. Or I could potentially use the Mac Mini with the Blackmagic video recorder in conjunction with the Slingbox as well. Should I purchase the Hava or Slingbox myself or do you ship one to China?

Thanks.

HAVA, as it already has a remote recording ability with a TIVO system inbuilt, somethings slings do not. We stream to clients worldwide.

The HAVA is not shipped to your side but stays in the server room where the satellite feeds and fiber uploading are provided. I suggest you read the two forum links below they have all the information in there.

Dream TV cards are married to the CRYSTAL BOXES or HOMECAST decoders they come in. So you can not move the Dream TV cards to different receivers they will only work in the ONE recoever they are PAIRED to.

Hi Jim, so, Jie works with you here in Shanghai?
Also, the Homecast box still works with a new card? I thought it was just the Crystal box. A friend just called me telling that they are installing a new sat at her house, but the image isn;t good, and when she told me that the box was a Homecast, I told her IS FAKE!!
I have a dead BOLT, and 2 HOMECASTS, can I use it if I buy a real card??
Thanks.

Iara,

Jie told me that her Dream Boxes will be in this week or next. You might want to contact her soon so you can get on the waitlist. I'm waiting for one more and she said that she would personally come out to Jin Qiao to bring it to me. She is a really nice lady and gives really good customer service....

Very Happy

HOMECAST decoders are genuine Dream TV decoders. They would have been brought up form the Philippines and smuggled into China.

Not fake you can see they have the genuine Dream TV cards. HOmecast decoders yes use the Green Nagra3 cards.

Thanks Lady, I already got my Crystal box from Jie (i.e, my landlady did).
But Jim, I have 21Homecast decoder (landlady told me it was genuine, and once she even call to Philippines from my home to set it up), but after august it died.
Ok, I know it had to be renewed every august, and maybe its why its dead now.
So, whit this genuine box, what do I do? buy a new card??

If your homecast has the old BLUE card then your card needs replacing.

This should have been done by your agent who sold you the boxes as they all knew this was going to happen. It is up to your agent to replace your cards as you would have paid up subscriptions.

It's more like a purple than blue...
I have no clue who sold it to my landlady, but will let her know about it.

Thanks again.

YEs thats the old NAGRA1 card that Dream TV notified would stop working.

Your homecast can be upgraded by the blue card needs to be returned to Dream TV to get an exchange.

That purple thing is the end of that sausage thing between your legs that you tug on while watching the porn channels on the Taiwan satellite.

Unlike you, I like real sex, and I have a quite hot husband, so dont need any porn channel or "purple sausage thing".
And seems that you are the one playing with purple sausages, but instead of have it between your legs, it's stucked in your a*s!
Get a life!
