Post subject: Unpaid Shanghai Internship

Hey guys,

Im an American math & statistics student who will be spending the coming year at SJTU. I'm in Shanghai now and was thinking of getting an unpaid summer internship. Perhaps I could stay on through the semester or year as well.

So far my desired areas have been accounting and finance but I'm still open to other possibilities. I have worked at UBS in the United States and have some personal experience with investing.

I can converse in Chinese and am a native English speaker. If anyone has a position open or knows of one, please pass it on to me and I'd be more than grateful. I have my CV ready for whoever wants it.

Thanks,

John

I'm in a similar situation. I am an MBA student in the US and want to spend my coming summer in China improving my Mandarin and attaining an internship with a company there. I have lived in China close to two years and want to focus my career in Branding and Marketing.

Does anyone know how to land a good internship that would add real value for an MBA student?

This unpaid internship thing is getting quite ridiculous. You realize that you're ruining the job market for fresh graduates with your free labour? There's people with very desirable qualifications doing China time for free, but if you'd all just grow a little self-respect and stop doing free internships all over the place, there'd actually be more jobs for when you graduate.
