Me? Nah.
I spoke to this girl about this and she said that 'bad girls' in Shanghai use the morning after pill. I've long been under the impression that condoms are rarely, if ever, used. I think that most of Shanghai's 'bad girls' use the morning after pill. Some could be using this on a regular basis which can't be healthy. |

Why wouldn't they just use the pill? A brand which is also standard in the UK is only around 20 RMB in the pharmacies and at Carrefour.
I just don't know why they would rely entirely on the morning after pill, which I hear is rather painful, can make you vomit for 24 hours and can make your hair fall out, rather than take a pill a day to avoid the issue...and well, use a condom. |

Yeah, but that would imply planning ahead. I mean, more ahead than from one meal to the next |

"The Pill" aka pregnant mares urine, is extremely bad for women. It's one of the long-term use treatments that has never been tested long term. I always tell my girlfriends not to take it. If women pay attention to their cycle and ask the BF to wear a condom, then no pill before or after is needed. |

It can cause cramping and nausea, but it does not cause your hair to fall out. I think you're thinking of mercury. =P |

Uhh, yes it has been tested long term. In fact, the pill has more research behind it than most marketed medications. It's not like it's hard to get data with MILLIONS of women taking it for years and years.
The side effects vary both with the type of pill and the individual taking the pill. There are many varieties of the pill now that can be better for different types of women. |

That's what big bro would brainwash you to believe, but the pill has never been proven safe or tested long term. The women using it for the past 40 years are the Guinea pigs... those same women who have startlingly high incidences of uterine and breast cancer. For example, most Japanese women don't take it and they have much lower levels of these cancers... coincidence, probably not...
From Wikipedia: Japan
In Japan, lobbying from the Japan Medical Association prevented the Pill from being approved for nearly 40 years. Two main objections raised by the association were safety concerns over long-term use of the Pill, and concerns that the Pill use would lead to diminished use of condoms and thereby potentially increase sexually transmitted infection (STI) rates.[52] As of 2004, condoms accounted for 80% of birth control use in Japan, and this may explain Japan's comparably low rates of AIDS.[5]
The Pill was approved for use in September 1999; the Pill prescription guidelines the government endorsed require Pill users to visit a doctor every three months for pelvic examinations and undergo tests for sexually transmitted diseases and uterine cancer. In the United States and Europe, in contrast, an annual or bi-annual clinic visit is standard for Pill users.

in the end, it ain't worth the risk! |

Uhh, nothing you quoted links breast or ovarian cancer to The Pill. It's not brainwashing, it's called the facts not backing up the crazies saying it's bad.
The Pill works, it's good. Use it unless you have severe versions of the side effects. |

"A large analysis of most of the studies carried out worldwide into oral contraceptives (the pill) and the risk of breast cancer, showed that women using the pill have a slight but significant increase in breast cancer risk"
Anyway, why would pumping yourself full of hormones all the time not be risky??? Just look at what happens to pro athletes who do to even greater extreme.
And why would Japanese doctors lobby for 40 years not to have it approved because of lack of long term studies if your version of reality correct.
You take the pill if ya think it's so safe. No girl of mine is gonna be a test subject because I'm too lazy or cheap to wear condoms. |

During those 40 years, do you think they did studies or sat with their thumbs up their ass? The facts are this: They did studies for years before the pill came out and have done studies ever since it's been out. They have many versions of the pill, many are low dosage hormone pills at this point which alleviates much of the concerns of the early pill.
It doesn't "pump you full of hormones" it uses low doses of hormones to mimic a cycle that your body already goes through naturally on its own and removes the part of the cycle where you can get pregnant. Not that big a deal.
Further, the same article you linked says the cervical cancer link is anecdotal since most people on the pill are having sex which ITSELF increases the risk of cervical cancer. The increased risk of breast cancer is also minor and it LOWERS the risk of both ovarian and womb cancers.
So I can lower the risk out of 2 types of cancer with a slight increase in 1, and I can't get pregnant. The downside is what?
All my girlfriends have been on the pill for years and the sexual freedom is quite liberating. None of them have had cancer and all of them had none of the side effects that you MIGHT get by taking the pill. =P |
