| Post subject: A question for Chinese cinema and Tv viewers--- |
Due to my satellite problems – I have had to watch some local channels- and to my surprise there have been some excellent films on many with English subtitles. Great cinematography and story lines that show -Chinese and their culture- struggles along with happiness- hardship- love and tragedy. I have also watched some local series- however in all the films that do show a great deal of culture one thing seems always to be missing??
Spitting and all the noise and performance that go with it – An everyday sight for all in china- and the further inland you go the lesser the population but a higher percentage spit – this is never shown in films.
My question is if the Chinese know spitting is a filthy disgusting unsanitary habit so emit that part of their everyday life that could be classed as part of their culture- from films and television ??. |

This is for the exact same reason that there is not as many fat people in American movie as in reality.
