| Post subject: Renewable Energy Sector |
Does anyone here have an involvement in the renewable energy sector? I am interested in talking with anyone who may be working for a local or foreign company either in the investment side or the development side...
I am most interested in recent government investment and any new foreign companies entering the country for investment of manufacturing purposes.

I have extensive experience working with SME solar production companies in Wuxi. What kind of questions are you looking to have answered?

How is the industry reacting to recent plans for billion $$ investment into the renewable sector from the government? Where is the money going? what sort of companies are making the largest inroads in the renewable sector (domestic/foreign)?
I normally get most my info from the Economist Intelligence unit regarding these questions but am looking for on the ground reactions.
sorry lots of questions... |

billion $$ investment + cash flow direction > For the most part, only the major IPO companies have been able to reap any of the benefits. They have both the guanxi (not a cliche term) and the corresponding contracts. This was supposed to trickle down the supply chain, as far as SME orders go, but the factories that I have visited either stopped production completely and laid off over half their production staff, or in the process of looking for more cash flow investors to stay alive. Basically, not much has improved since the financial crisis began. SME's, from my understanding, are still in standby mode and waiting for govt Solar subsidies and stimulus injection to turn around. A few are under court proceedings for breach of contract (aka fighting for cash flow).
Largest inroads in RE > Domestic IPO Companies. Ie Suntech, LDK, CSI.
