Post subject: New Xbox 360, not all games work

recently got a new Xbox 360.

Most games work.

COD Modern Warfare 2, Liberty City stories/ Vice City 4/5, Cars and a few other just show up as dvd . can not read media.

I saw the guy flash the drive when I purchased the system.

I recall reading about some updates or something.

Do I need a firmware update? I saw the guys in a shop playing COD Modern Warfare 2 so I know it can be played.

Advice please.

Your timing is the problem here. He flashed it with iXtreme 1.6 and most of the new games being released now need iXtreme 1.61 to work. If you show your game shop "iXtreme 1.61" and what games you want to play that don't work they should know what to do or where to send it to get it fixed.

You need something that does wave4 games, or a boot disk.
Google wave4.

eg

and

Don't expect the average staff at the game stores to have a clue either.

They gave me a cd and told me to insert it in the Box then take it out and put in the new games that don't work. I'm playing Borderlands right now and in no hurry to try the other games. And the guy that flashes the Boxes was out today but they understood my problem. The guy said " Says play dvd, yes?"

So maybe so I can get the drive reflashed when they have the most current firmware update.
