| Post subject: Apartment vs Villa -Which One - Dog Friendly Too? |
I believe that our housing allowance will allow us to live in either a villa or an apartment. We have yet to narrow down which side (Puxi,Pudong). We are hoping to be near an SAS. We have never lived in an apartment in our lives and don't know if we'd like it. Pro's and Cons of each please?
Are the apartments dog friendly? Is it true that they restrict the hours your dog can be outside? Sorry I know this question might belong inthe other forum. |

Ummmmm, you don't plan on bringing a dog to China right?
Maybe getting one once here?
Each has it's own benefits, cost/size/privacy/decoration.
But neither is like having your own place 'at home'. |

A lot of expats have dogs, but all the ones I know were actually acquired here. A villa is more suitable for a dog. When you choose your compound, just ask the management office about pets to check their rules. |

We live in an apartment block, but is in a Chinese area, and not exactly downtown.
Dogs are actually encouraged, and the security guys know many of them by name.
Most of the dogs are small or miniatures, and live in the apartments, so a lot may depend on the size of your dog/s.
We have two tiny Liwawa.
Dont forget to license your dog, as dog sweeps will be happening more often leading up to Expo. |

There are two American schools in shanghai. One is in Pudong and the other on is in Puxi. Around the two schools, there are many apartments and villas. Myabe you can try a very nice apartment, like a duplex apartment. Until now, i haven't heard something about testricting the hours that the dogs out. As long as you have a permission license for your dog and you do the rabies vaccine for them on time, it will be not a problem for you to take your dogs out.
