| Post subject: Daodi how to nab train tickets to SH? |
Hey folks, I'm a backpacker who's coming to SH for a month or so from BJ after a long tour in the NE. I've been trying to get a ride on one of these new fangled Z trains but I've had 0 luck getting a hard-sleeper ticket. I asked the girl at the counter (a shoupiaochu) how people get them in general, and she says you just have to get lucky "peng qiao" .. or they sell them 4 hours before departure, which sounds a little risky. I'm asking for info as far ahead of time as they can get it, but the best I've found is a shang-pu hard sleeper to Nanjing.
Any tips? What's the best reasonable way to get to Shanghai? I'm a tall American who can't stand the hard seats... I'm even thinking of laying over in Jinan.
Thanks for any tips !

The cheapest discount flight from beijing to shanghai is less than 600, may be you should consider taking the plane. |

from beijing to shanghai, there is a new and clean fast train, all are soft-sleeper seats, about 12hours.the price is around 450(i'm not sure)
but i think u can consider taking the plane, the cheapest discount is close to the price of train ticket, what's more, only 1 hour and 40mins from beijing to shanghai. |
