Hey, Nilly...guess what? I thought they were quite so so and just four pigheaded silly guys before I watched the 1st series of <Meteor Garden>...but miracle did happen later when I started to watch it! The series was so funny and cool, watching Dao mingsi wooing Shan cai but Shan cai having crush on Hua zelei..It's far much better than the love soap series of Aunt Qiong yao!!

So I bought a DVD of F4's live show later, which seemed to be a silly thing happened on me since I've never watched it for a second time and am sure it has been covered with thick dust and lying silently in its "tomb" now.. But, hey, that just approves the old saying "love one, love his dog!!" Wink

I think Jay Zhou is peculiar and cool.

He makes most of his albums on his own, of course his good assistant Fang Wen Shan has done a lot of things to assist Jay. I like the lyrics in his songs, you can seldom find unmeaningful words like I love you, why donot you love me like I do....such kinda crap.....in his songs. His style obviously differentiates from the other Chinese singers and bands. After I attended his live concert in Shanghai, his stage performance is also gorgeous and impressed me so deeply. Wow, he is the person who knows well about how to control the feelings of the audience.

When I was 16 years old, I might like the singers like F4 or S.H.E, the person who has a pretty face can easily attracts me, who will ever give a damn about whether he/she sings well or not? So have a look at the fans of S.H.E and F4, most of them look like high school students, so I can understand the reason why they are soooo popular in both mainland and Taiwan/Hongkong....

The young is the main customer of the pop music, the people at 50s or much older like my folks seldom listen to pop music....

Yeah, quite a few Chinese singers should disappear in the market, like zhao wei etc...their albums are totally full of craps, just the products of business profits.

Lemongrass, Jay is 100% crap.

You really need to understand that.

You are a human, and you are an adult, and you meet people on a day to day basis, and you need to realise that Jay is 100% crap in order to be considered 1% worthwhile.

Once you have the 1%, then we can move on to the next percentage.

The first step is realising that Jay is entirely awful.

Nilly, just because you like chinese pop music, does not mean it is good in any way. Just because I think it is bad, does not mean it is bad.

However: It is awful. If you still think it is good in any way, then you can talk to people, and they will converse with you - but they will always do it as an alternative to doing nothing. They will not consider it a memorable life encounter - as anyone who likes chinese pop music must be considered to be lacking brains.

Just some advice.

He is just a cross-eyed Taiwanese hallucinating that he is Eminem.

To understand why local girls like him, one needs to recognise the underlying desire in all Chinese: to be American. Also, when one looks at the level of the local men, it is easier to understand why a cross-eyed retard rapper can be so popular in China.

Leslie Zhang/Alan Tan reminds me of my primary school
Jacky Zhang reminds me of my junior middle school days
Faya Wong reminds me of my senior middle school days

Time flies. Good time shoots.

No Nicky, can you give me a reason why I need to understand Jay is 100% crap???

Just because you think Jay is awful, doesnot mean he is.....

You donot have to like Jay or the other Chinese music, you are entitled to say "NO" or "Sh1t", but I donot need to follow your step to move on.

Yeah, I like this cross-eyed Taiwanese, so what?

Oh you began to listen to leslie Zhang when you were in primary school?! So Amazing!! When I was that young, I used to listen to English tapes like A B C D instead of pop music...

Damn it! The horrible school time....

But I can still remember Leon Li was my first favorite singer in my middle school. Now he looks soooo awful, especially the performance in wu jian dao!!!

We sang F.I.R's songs at K, remember?

However, I dont think we can expect some GOOD rock & roll stuff like the west simply because the lack of the "rebellion" thing - we are just not good at that.

I suggest you change to we just don't like it. Most Chinese I know don't like rock'n'roll, let alone some heavy stuff. Although Chinese rock is still too young compared with the west, I disagree there is no good rock'n'roll. Didn't you rip some Tangchao? also, Shanghai is particularly not a city for rock'n'roll, except for a few punk bands and a few paces for such performance such as Gua'er factory, ARK and Harley's Bar. Even for Shanghainese rock fans, it's difficult to stick to such hobby. Beijing, on the other hand, leaves more room for rock'n'roll singers and bands.

P.S I agree with lovingu's opinion on andy liu, whose music is shiit but his films are not. Gawd... his voice is terrible.

All pop music sucks. UK top 40, J-pop, Billboard 100, MTV, especially hip-hop and rap

rock'n'roll = trailer trash anthem

LF, U R RIGHT, his movies are good. I was fascinated by his movies in my teens when dreaming of becoming a policeman all day long. As for his music?!, even me can sing better than him.
