| Post subject: Moving with 3 kids in December |
We found the house, the school and now we are moving just after Xmas. The worst time of the year to move I've been told by people living in Shanghai.
But what can we do end of December with 3 kids (10, 6 and 3) when you are just waiting for your own stuff to arrive and you are staying in a hotel?I know the zoo is not far but is there anything indoors?? I know it's been raining and it can be cold. Is there anything special happening for New year's eve ( fireworks??? or is it only for the Chinese New year?
thanks to all. |

Good luck on your new adventure. It will be good to read your insights at this forum about moving, settling-in etc. Where have you decided to enrol your children at school? Did you visit most of the international schools in Shanghai? |

It wasn't that difficult for schols because my kids have always been in French education so they will be going to the Franco-Greman school. But I did think about an international school at one point for the 2 younger kids . When I read in this Forum how complicated it was I thought that I'd go for the easiest. Concerning the move our belongings left beginning of Nov from France and should be in Shanghai after Xmas. It's very long!!!
I know that for you it's more complicated concerning schools and the weather. We are used to the cold wet winters in this part of the world.
I'll let you know how our move and first weeks go!!! |

The Shanghai Aquarium, in Pudong, is indoors, is good for kids and compares with some of the better ones in the World. Its not bad for adults too... |

there's the shanghai discovery children's museum, or the huge paly area of ZHONGSHAN Park. when you get here, go to the nearest starbucks and get a copy of CITY WEEKEND or THAT'S SHANGHAI.... they have information about almost everything.
I also relocated my family here 2 motnhs ago.... it wasn't that bad. Have a safe trip. |

Hi Busra, I moved here last august and also have 3 kids. We live not that far from the French school. Maybe you would like to come over for a cup of coffee? Any time... see ya, Evie |
