David Letterman looked him up in the Canadian phone book and used to call him all the time at his petrol station in Regina Saskatchewan.

Many of them are phonetic jokes. e.g. 'Hugh Jass' = "Huge Ass" when spoken. 'Juan Kerr' = "Wanker" when spoken.

on a slightly related theme. many years ago there was a tv cook in the UK called Fanny Craddock and for those of you from the states, fanny is a slang name for a womens genitalia in the UK.
Anyway, her husband always worked with her on the show and after baking donuts announced to the tv world "good luck and i hope all your donuts turn out like fanny's". |
