Post subject: Japanese Leader visits shrine shock horror.

I'm watching cctv9 and there's a show about the Japanese prime minister. It's going on about the fact that he has visited the official world war two shrine IN JAPAN four times. More than any other Japanese leader.

Then it interviews some Chinese 'experts' who bleat on about the fact that he's wrong to do so.

WHY??

WTF has it got to with you?

He's not allowed to pay reverence to some dead Japanese because it upsets China?

Three words:

GET OVER IT.

The robots need their instructions topped-up every now and then.

Hey I don't suppose i mentioned the tens of thousands suffering human rights violations in china? I know its unrelated, but certainly more relevant to the watching audience.

And if the chinese can pay homage to Mao, the great architect of this suffering, then why cant others pay the same respect to their hero's.

What sauce for the goose.................

You guys need some history lessons. Would you say the same thing if the German chancellor was visiting SS shrine, several times a year, every year? On the contrary the Jews have huge events every year to remember the so-called Shoah - and world leaders MUST attend - and everyone must say it is good - otherwise facing the fury of the media. Mao never went to massacre people in other countries. Japanese and Germans did, on an unprecedented scale. BTW it is not just a Chinese thing. Go to Korea (South and North) and other countries that suffered from the japanese, you will see the same thing. Open your eyes, travel a bit, read something else than your propaganda papers. And have a nice weekend too.

You are unbelievably blinkered. It's not about the points you mentioned.
Mao never massacred others (because he couldnt), stop comparing history to history. The comparison must be the reaction to that vs the reaction to your beloved fatty mole man on the bank note.

It's not an SS shrine, it's a shrine honouring those who died in the service of the Emperor. Men, women, children, militray, civil service, civilians.

"Mao never went to massacre people in other countries. Japanese and Germans did, on an unprecedented scale. BTW it is not just a Chinese thing. "

......well, he did urge the soviet union to initate nuclear war on the west and prepared for it, with no regard for chinese casualties.

However, to be honest, i beleieve the japanese are as bad as the chinese and they have a debt of honour ( something they claim to love so much ) to apologise for what was a fundamentally wrong and foully-exercised excursion into china.

pragmatically speaking, in those times, when trying to be empathetic, it can be comprehended.
the simple facts remain, the japanese were wrong ( just a hundred years later than the english). when will the brits apologise for gassing people in the middle East and Africa or culling more than half the population of Ireland? its history.

Look people of China. Right now you hate japanese so much is it to start a war??? Answer me this question. Just cause you want a apologize doesnt mean you ever will get one. You see it has to do with their respect as that is THEIR face. Do YOU have that? Tell me?

Secondly, they were at war with you. So WHAT. You also want to go with war as well and call them your people but at the same time you call them something else as not belonging to you.

As westerners I can bet you anything we know more about your gov then you and thats why we aint allowed to demonstrate it as wed get kicked out. Which is alright if they don't want busienss with us though it should be better regulated.

If you want to slam my post be my guest as you will not get an anwer. As expats and experts we just can't say much. We just follow policy

If the Japanese prime minister paid homage too to the Japanese imperial army soldier who chopped the head of that white dude in my avatar, we Chinese won't get so upset.

On second thought, he might have already.
