Post subject: Summer in Shanghai for kids 5 and 7

We will be spending the summer in Shanghai with our kids 2, 5 and 7 for the first time. Does anyone know of any good summer programs for English speaking kids to gain exposure and possibly learn the Chinese language and culture? A well balanced program that would also include other organized activities such as music, dance, swim or other sports instructions would be ideal. Any information/recommendations or experiences that you would like to share is most appreicated.

A lot of expat kids leave Shanghai during the summer so there may not be too many programs or camps on offer.

I am only aware of Active Kidz which organise camps (don't think there is much Chinese culture component) which include a variety of activities.

Other organisations may start advertising their camps in the next couple of months.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know the wed address or other contact information for Active Kidz? Where do most organizations advertise their camp activities?

Last year I saw some advertisements in the usual expat publications (That's Shanghai etc) regarding kids summer holiday activities.
