Hello out there
We intend to go to Langkawi in May with children. Any idea or recommendation for destination and hotel?
Interesting link?
Thank you very much.

My family and I went to Langkawi this past Christmas and it was a nice time. It wasn't the nicest resort island there is but still we had a good time. We stayed at the Sheraton Langkawi Beach Resort which had nice restaurants and beautiful bungalows, the pool and beach area were kind of dissapointing though and since you'll probably be spending most of your time in the pool or on the beach, I would not recommend this hotel. Take a look at the below link to find some other hotels. Of course the Andaman is the nicest of them all, but I'm not sure how children friendly it will be since it is a little "Shi-shi".
For activities, most hotels will offer some sort of rainforrest trek which last between 4-6 hours, people say they are awesome, especially the night trekking, we skipped that as I get eaten alive by mosquitos and that would just not have been a good environment for me. You can rent a car at the hotel (with driver) and spend a day driving around the island and see some of the sights. There are a lot of things to see, but most of them are kind of boring, like you drive out of your way to see some statue and then get back in the car. So I would recommend that you hit up
The crocodile farm (I think your kids would like this)
The Underwater world (aquarium)
The seven Wells waterfall (make sure it isn't dry season though coz then there is no water fall)
The Cable car ( a must, go all the way up to the top of the mountain and it's gorgeous)
Downtown Kuah really isn't anything to write home about, there were mostly just duty free shops that mostly sold cigarettes and alcohol. The restaurants in town really weren't that exciting as well.
Anyways, hope you have a nice trip. Find a resort with a nice pool and beach and enjoy!
