Post subject: Chinese chicks: too fat!

I constantly hear young Chinese women say that they themselves are too fat. And some of them are such weight-losing extremists as to call a small bowl of Chinese cabbage a dinner! In most cases, however, they don't need to lose weight; they need to gain weight to be more healthy. I'm afraid they'll not only become anorexic but dissapear from the thin air.

This idea suddenly came into my mind. Whenever you are with underweight women on diet, you can look around around in streets and posters to find women of attractive figures who are not exactly thin, and make comments like,"that girl's hot" in front of them naturally. Hopefully with time this will make them more comfortable of not being underweight and motivate them to keep their weight in healthy range.

You will never hear a truely fat girl say 'I'm fat', because they know they are and don't want to draw attention to themselves. It's only the girls without a weight problem that say it so they can recieve a positive comment in return.

I think most Asian girls are very slim - perhaps a little TOO slim. That is certainly way better than some of the "fatties" that we get here in Australia!

Nah...I disagree. You have to reinforce the psychosis. A person has to hit rock bottom before they can build a healthy self-esteem level.

When Im walking with underweight women, I like to point out even skinnier chicks and exclaim, "Why are all these women such fat pigs? Havent they ever heard of salads?"
And when a skinny woman tells me she thinks she looks fat, not only do I agree but I try and point out various spots on her grotesquely bony frame where she could lose a centimeter or two. I then explain that I am there for them should they need diet or exercise advice.

This is called true friendship.

Funny stuff bleucheese Laughing

There is probably only one girl that I know who is obsessed with losing weight. Most of my girl friends are happy with their body type, slim or not. As for myself, I keep telling people I need to gain some weight.

lots of chinese girls think they're too fat because that's all they've got. they don't do any exercise. When they get paranoid, they just starve themselves, losing any muscle tone they might have had in the first place, and keeping an unshapely layer of fat on.

And they make a perfect target market for me though, but true most of them complain how "Fat" they are while I'm tempted to put them on to a transfusion to keep them walking.

I used to call myself 'fat' in order to fish for compliments like 'you're already thin enough'. Now I really prefer to gain some weight. However, being a Buddhist, I hardly eat any meat unless my parents force me to. I think the trend of losing weight is eventually going to wear off .

Let's hope so, because trying to fish for compliments like that, isn't a good way for attention. When treating yourself better, you'll look better and more importantly feel better and be more healthy

So please don't worry so much unless you weigh the same as Tripple H "The game", but your height is 1,60m

I wouldn't complain about being fat because I think it might actually make people think that I am actually fat. And besides, girls who complain about being fat all the time actually end up sounding rather shallow and boring. It's like as though their weight is the only thing worth obsessing about, when thee are so many more interesting things to discuss.

Actually, I'm really worried about my weight - It's dropping off of me at such a rate I'm worried that I might fall down a drain one day.

I try to eat nutricious, wholesome food like KFC and McDonalds every day but still I look like Kate Moss' heroin-addicted, anorexic little sister.

It drives me crazy when people just keep complaining about having to loose weight but don't take any action. I mean, if you are really feeling depressed about the extra 5-10 lbs, then go to the gym for christ's sake, eat a little healthier, skip that after lunch chocolate bar! Don't just sit around and complain!

I think you have the right sentiment there, Anniboodk! Especially about exercising and cutting out unnecessary food being the way to go. I know one Chinese girl who decided she was "too fat" (she weighs maybe 90 pounds), and so stopped eating anything but lunch. And not much of that. It's disturbing.

izanami, I must not understand what you're saying. It sounds like you're implying that whether or not you actually are fat, if you say so, you're worried people will get confused and suddenly think you are despite what they see with their eyes? I don't think people are that susceptible, don't worry!

In fact when a gal says I am fat, that means she really believes/thinks she is fat. If she thinks she is thin enough, she will not say such stupid words, if she is a normal and nice gal.
And it is true 80% gals think they are fat or not thin enough.

THINK they are fat or not thin enough---doesn't mean they are fat. Women are held to a much higher standard of physical "beauty" than are men.

HB, there is no such standard on judging if a gal is fat or not. It varies from country to country, even it varies from person to person.

Oh yes there are! Societal norms dictate what is considered acceptable levels of body weight. These are spread through exposure to television, magazines, doctor's recommendations of weight, friends, etc.

If there were no standards for judging, then why are diseases such as anorexia and bullemia prevelent? Why is plastic sugery one the most popular elective procedure?

Weight is not the only issue that is defined by these norms, but also eyes, hair, breast size, body hair, nail length, teeth whiteness, lip shape, etc. The list is endless.

The cosmetics industry intrduces a new miracle product every few weeks... color cosmetics, hair colors, perms, etc are all things that a vast majority of women and men pay massive amounts of money for annually.

While the norms may be different from culture to culture in some aspects, they are still there.

ah....I am fat. I enjoy being fat. Now I just need to be a contortionist. That way I can save money on mattresses and pillows and use my hand as a bolster.
