Hey! Welcome to the Shanghai Youth Expats (SYE) thread!
SYE is a target group for the 18-29 expat youths living in Shanghai. We currently hold a weekly coffee meet-up to act as a gathering point for all those who are interested in finding new friends or have nothing better to do on a Saturday afternoon. On average, there are about 10-20 people who drop by each week (fab crowd!); lots of new faces every time!
Attendees are encouraged to organise outside activities. To date, groups of us have gone clubbing at VIP, Guandii, Mint, watched Batman in a VIP cinema, and lots more activities are lined up. Come by to chit chat and you might find yourself another social circle. We know how hard it is to find friends in Shanghai (supposedly). 
So feel free to drop by!

DETAILS
Time & Date: 4:00PM Every Saturday
Location: The Starbucks located on the cross intersection of Shaanxi Rd & Changle Rd (refer map below)
Who is invited?: Youth expats who are between 18 - 29 years of age. BUT, we openly welcome locals & those young/old at heart 
How to spot the group?: The third floor is not that big. It'll be a walk in the park task for you.

Its great meeting up today. Really help newcomers like me a great deal I suppose = )
Will join as often as I can, and when i get more familiar with surrounding areas, might organise small trips too!

Yeah it was great meetng you all. This sort of thing definitely helps people who somehow suddenly find themselves in this city, to meet other people. Looking forward to the next one

aight TBJ...this thursday is my last night in shanghai...so get your party hats out...cause this boy is coming to party hardy...i'll see where we can go...most likely get a table in Guandi like last time...few bottles..and with us there's plenty of entertainment...everybody is invited...even though you might not know me TBJ can vouch for me...PARTY GUY #1... |

yeah dude it's my last night in shanghai....everybody is invited...i might make the party at Guandi...nice music and we get a good table...service usually sucks but it's china it kinda grows on you...so remember thursday Guandi...if anyone wants to join...just show up.. |

Bloody sorry for not turning up at the party Nimbvs (left u a msg after not being able to call u...not sure if u got it). I got attacked by extreme headaches and loud music, booze or dancing all night long wasn't exactly the right idea. Nevertheless I'm sure it was a blast. Have a safe trip back mate. Anyways, meeting is still on tomorrow as usual. Everyone is invited of course. To the few old souls, please note the new location. It's very convenient. Just refer to the map at the beginning of this thread ( all announcements also at the beginning of this thread! ).
I hope I'll make it to the meeting. I'm still sniffling from a cold I caught a few days back and my head occassionally feels like someone slammed a metal pole into it but I'm gradually feeling better so fingers crossed. If I'm not there, Kirsty will still be of course with her red and white cloth. I'm sure she makes a much prettier host than I am. ( I'm sure Craig is too busy to read this...haha )

Hi guys, didn't meet everybody last week. Was there anyone convienced to dance by itv1980? 
Anyway, want to ask if any of you would be interested in watching Madagascar together?
Hong Qiao Century cinema (No 100, Zunyi Rd), July 29th(Next Fri), 21:50, for only 15 RMB (Fri special price). Sounds tempting right?
Last Batman movie action was quite successful. Time for movie again
