Post subject: RO Set-up Costs

I have recently set-up a company in the UK, which I had intended to use to make trade connections when i relocate to Shanghai.

I was thinking that I should set-up an RO in Shanghai, but I am worried about the costs. The business is basically and consulting company, and the RO would be used to find clients in China and also perfrom the consultancy services, but invoicing would be done in USD and payments will be made to the UK company.

What i need to know is:

1. What do I need to do to set up an RO?
2. What will be the costs?
3. Can i be the only employee, or would I need to hire staff?

Thanks

Regards

Kevin

I have asked previously an investment consulting company in Shanghai and it was less than RMB 8K in Shanghai (for a HK-registered company though, don't know if it would be different from UK company), including the company's intermediary fees and the fees for setting up a corporate bank account at your RO name in a local bank. If you need the address contact me. And there is not anymore the 2 or 1 year requirement as it used to be.
