| Post subject: Shanghaiist.com -- A new website about Shanghai |
Hi everyone,
I'm the editor of a new website called Shanghaiist.com. Shanghaiist is a site about Shanghai and everything that happens in it. That means news and events, restaurants and bars, happenings and goings-on. We officially launched last week, and we are already attracting thousands of visitors each day. I'd like to invite you to check out the site. We'd love to hear what you think.
Our readers play an active role in the website. We love receiving your emails about news tips, upcoming events, the best in activities, bars, restaurants, shopping and more. Basically, if you think we should be writing about something, please let us know. If we think it's something our readers would find interesting, we'll write about it. Send your emails to tips@shanghaiist.com.
You can comment on all of our stories, as well. And anyone can add an event to our events calendar -- for free. Like Shanghai Expat and Shanghai Diaries, Shanghaiist uses the public events calendar from Upcoming.org. Go here to add an event. It's easy. If you are a photographer, you can also post your photos to our photo page.
Shanghaiist is part of the successful New York City based Gothamist network of city blogs, which has sites in 13 major cities worldwide. Shanghaiist is the network's first site in Asia. The Kansas City Star, an American newspaper, recently had this to say about Shanghaiist: "[A]n attitudinal blog affiliated with a series of city-oriented sites that emanates from New York. The flavor of these '–ist' sites skews toward the young, hip and plugged-in. The newly launched Shanghaiist, for instance ... takes note of the local music scene and other events."
We're not completely sure what "attitudinal" means. And we're also not that "young, hip and plugged-in." But, hey, it's a quote in a semi-major newspaper. We're a blog -- we take what we can get.
If you're curious, go ahead and take a look at our site. We look forward to hearing from you. Remember, our email is tips@shanghaiist.com.
Thanks,
Dan Washburn

After a quick look I concluded I somehow do not fit in this site's target audience. By the way who is this Dan Washburn guy? I heard this name before. Is he the CEO of a major automaker in China who got fired for massive fraud (I know the story was release to the media in a different way)? |
