Our lunch gatherings for September have been fixed on 15 and 29 September (thursdays). Time: 11am.
Venue for the 15th: suggestions, anyone? Preferably in the Lujiazui district. Post your replies or pm me ok? Thanks!
Venue for the 29th: Moon River Diner, 2/F, 199 Fangdian Lu. Located opposite the entrance of the Lianyang Carrefour, Pudong.

Hi, like me, am sure those of you who live in Puxi don't mind making the trip to meet in Pudong with like minded mummies. We are from Singapore and have a 11month old son and live in Puxi. Well, if anyone would like to meet over here anytime, feel free to pm me or leave a msg here and maybe we can work out something? Cheers. Or maybe we could carpool (cabpool?!) to Pudong?  |

Just discovered this site. My husband and I have just located here. I'm a Singaporean mom but my kids are grown, like 20 and 22 years old and they are studying in Perth. Therefore I have plently of time on my hands and am wondering if I could join in. You all sound like having fun. |

It's been nice meeting up with all of u at the Ichido cafe, though a bit unpleasant with the waiting time... hope to see you all again in next meet up.
glw, include me. let me know if u need any help in reservation since I am staying just right across the restaurant...By the way, any one of u going to the ShanghaiExpat super BBQ Buffet this sun? Looks interesting and seems quite a gd deal too... kids eat for free... pm me if anyone going???

Hallo everybody. I am a mother of two girls: 4 and 9 years old. We are eager to find friends here in Shanghai, Pudong. We are russian but can speak English. And it would be fine if my elder daughter found here a friend, a girl of her age to have a good time together and also to practice her English. The girl likes music, painting, roller-skating. May be the only problem is that she is rather shy. If there are some meetings for families in Pudong we will join them with great pleasure! |

how about in one of the restaurants in the green sports center in Pudong? There are a few and one maybe where can sit outside if the weather stays this nice? How many mums are there usually? Do we need to make a reservation? |

The cafe is located outside Green Court, which is near Carrefour in Jinqiao. While it lacks a play area for kids, it does have a TV and a DVD player for screening children's movies!

I'll be moving to Shanghai with my husband and kids. I'd love to know your honest answer: are you happy that you made the move? How about your kids? Has it been hard for them to adjust? We're moving from the US for probably two years. I've lived overseas before but only in Latin America. I have no experience with Asia at all!  |

Hi, I'm a daddy staying in Pudong area, towards Science center area. I'm writing on behalf of my wife, who is getting bored and restless by the minute.
May I know how these meetings are like? Is it just casual chit chat and exchange of information .... as well as a playgroup for kids? Any home meetup sessions?

Hi pixel8, so far we have lunch meetings once or twice a month. Some moms bring their kids along, so the children do get to mingle somewhat. I guess you can sort of say "casual chit chat and exchange of information" happen at these gatherings. It's just a good way to meet up with other expat parents and make new friends... so that we have someone to turn to in times of stress here!
We have further meet ups apart from these, shopping for stuff, visiting places etc.
We'll probably have a Christmas lunch party sometime in the next two weeks. Details will be posted later. All are welcome to join us! |
