The da1a¡ 1ama, who turns 64 today, says if his successor is chosen in the traditional way, then his reincarnation would not appear in t¡bet or areas under Chinese control. "Should people prefer the old system of choosing a reincarnation -- then da1a¡ 1ama's reincarnation will appear in a free country, and not in Chinese hand as the purpose of a reincarnation is to carry the work started by the previous life and yet not fulfilled," reports PTI.
"Logically," he says, "the previous life escaped from Chinese hands so the next life should also be out of Chinese control." On being asked how he would like the next da1a¡ 1ama to be installed and what changes would be beneficial to the system so that a power struggle does not break out after him, the da1a¡ 1ama said as early as 1969 he had made it clear that it was for the t¡betans to decide whether the institution of the da1a¡ 1ama `should continue or not'. |

Thats not how the system works. They believe after one dies, they go looking for the next incarnation who is a little kid.
You don't believe in it, but they give them tests to see if they are authentic or not.
But in any case, it is interesting to see the debate of whether this is the last da1a¡ 1ama or not because of the Chinese-t¡bet situation. |

Seriously, I don't get this crap. But then, I never got any of the bible and God stuff they tried to teach us in the Presbyterian church. They were reading boring verses from Deuteronomy and I was thinking about my ancestors worshiping trees and howling at the moon in northern Europe during the age of Moses.
I'm just a simple farm girl from Iowa. We're just basic folks - not into fancy stuff out of the bible and such. And that Richard Gere? Well, I guess he's completely out of my league. Always knew that, I suppose. Classy folks like that into t¡betan Buddhism, etc., they're way beyond me. |

Goosie you don't believe in it because you haven't experienced it. If you use some of their meditation techniques and experience these feelings or visions or states of being, it would make more sense to you. |

Well you can start with mushrooms then move on to LSD. After a number of highs and lows you may want something harder then I suggest DMT. Then that will blow your mind altogether and the side effects will hit and you start feeling like a yo yo then you can actually try an all natural Buddhist meditation and then you may see just what these people are talking about, and you won't want the drugs anymore. |

I think some people are just seekers and they use any outlet they can to find out whats really going on. Many do start with drugs though. But it doesnt have to be religion. You can do meditations and not have a religion. |

Of course they have adjusted their propaganda to get the support to "morons" all over the world, but thats the reality of their religion. Every country is fuuked up. That doesn't mean it is ok to for an invader to go in there and BRUTALLY massacre their people and culture and take their land.
