OK cool, Sue Ellen as an alky was great.
Closer - Quite an interesting film, with a couple of amusing moments, particulary one bit which should appeal to the male viewers. Its all about game playing in relationships, who wants who etc, it can be slow in parts, but the storyline is a pretty good one if you stick with it. Overall, not a bad film to waste away a couple of hours with, but maybe not one to watch on a Friday or Saturday night. |

bought it but havne't seen it. heard it is good, but kind of a downer. best saved for a night in rather than something you watch before going out.
Dangerous Beauty is kind of old, but it is excellent.
really want to watch this Korean flick someone loaned me... can't rememer the name but it's about a man who is locked in a room for 15 years and and upon his release he is given five days to try and find out why he was locked up in the first place. suppossed to be great. and creepy/scary.
any good horror/scary movies out? picked up two, Grudge and Darkeness but haven't heard anything about them...
agree with you about the series... more fun to watch for some reason. more involving, i guess. |

I am always gutted when I finished a season and have to wait ages for the next one to come out...Sopranos, The Shield, and so on and so forth, new ones AGES away
Even more gutting when you know there's nothing else coming... Like with Dead Like me , or Keen Eddie
That Korean Movie about that guys sounds really interesting , let me know if you have a title
The Grudge is quite alright, few good scares, but just too much in the style of The Ring/Ringu ...
Good horror flicks are "The Fox Stairs" and "A Tale of Two Sisters" , latter which was sooooo scary that I had to turn it off halfway trough and NEVER picked it up again...I wont spoil it but I still wont eat in the kitchen any longer |

OOOOHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!!! A Tale of Two Sisters sounds great!!!!!! Shall keep an eye out for it! Along with The Fox Stairs... love a good scary movie, especially on the first chilly nights of the year which won't be too far away.
Korean movie is called... Old Boy. Not sure where she got it (possibly Korea) but I am sure she won't mind if you borrow it! |

That "Fox Stairs" is a bit confusing in the beginning. Looks like a lesbian school porn , really, but worth watching to the end...
If you haven't heard yet "Silent Hill" is going to be a movie very soon as well ...
Hands off "Alone in the Dark" though, absolute rubbish, switched it off after the first ten minutes... |

Why do they keep making games into movies? Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Tombraider etc... have any of them done well at the box office?
Still havent seen Charlie and the Chocolate Factory... heard mixed things about it but will pick up a copy when I see it.
Is there anything new coming out soon that looks good? |

I wanna watch Old Boy. Got lots of good critics in Europe. If u want a weird horror movie, look for Audition, by Takashi Miike. I can't take it outta my mind. It's some three years old but it's really worth it if u like the genre. Different from Ringu, Grudge, Dark Water etc (I mean, no pale child with black eyes and lots of long black hair all over the place and so on). |

wussy!!!
Mags, I have dvds of both so can lend to you if you can't find them, but do remember return to me as they are in my horror movie collection.
But ain't they a bit old?
I heard Wax Museum (not sure about the name) is quite good.
And also San Jing, a Hongkong scary movie about women eat dumplings made of infancies, errrrrrrrr
Hoolioh, you should definitely watch Old Boy, bloody original sin, somehow I find Korean directors can really push the boundaries. |

LOST is one to get hooked to - 26 episodes. It does drag a little but you will be staying up well into the night wanting to find out what happens.
I've just finished Deadwood - a series set in the 'wild west' in late 1800s. It's quite good if you don't mind people saying c*cksuck** every other word.
Criminal is alos quite good - has John C Reilly in it and the interesting girl out of Secretary. |

I'm on season 5 of 6 feet under.... Claire lost major weight and is looking good. Brenda's pregnant and Billy's off his meds. THe gay couple (David and Keith) are trying to "have" a kid while Nate still talks to the dead. Rico still looks like a 12 year old. Julio, Rico and Vanessa's son is gonna be a cutie once he's done with puberty. |

Would love to borrow your disks (and be sure to return), LF, if I am unable to find them. Thanks!
Watched THe Grudge. Music was scary and there were a few parts that made me jump. But it was one of those movies that left you with a WTF sense.
Finally watched (most of) Constantine. I like it.
May shoot for Old Boy tonight... |

Watched The Ice Storm the other night, it's about 8 years old I think but I've only just got round to seeing it. It's an excelelnt movie - I really enjoyed it!
I haven't seen the Grudge but saw the Japanese original, Juon, which is apparently the same shot for shot (what is the point of doing that?) and it was f***ing scary!! My boyfriend wants me to see the second one - but there is no way!!!! |

It's been a couple of weeks since I've seen , and probably someone recommended it already, it but I command everyone to log off the computer now , stop working and go home to watch "Crash" , with Matt Dillon, Don Cheadle, Sandra Bullock and more. One of the best movies I've seen in a couple of years |

After someone mentioned it somewhere on here I got "The 4400" . I am not into Science Fiction and Alien stuff normally but that series is amazing... |

Any good scary movies out recently?
I have watched all the different episodes of The Grudge a year ago I think, there are a few scenes indeed scary but like Magnolia put it, the plot is confusing and left you wondering why is the movie made for? |

Just finished watching a series on HBO called 'Entourage' It's funny as hell with lots of guest appearances, I haven't seen it out here on DVD yet, but if you have a P2P like Limewire take a look. |
