I hate the goddamn things eat my feet. I don't see any around, but I definitely see the results of the little bastards. Someone told me they crawl on the floor and then up onto your ankles.

Have you tried the heat things that you put the raid tabs in?

I tried the "Raid" tablets but don't think they work Sad
(also contrary to those bought in Europe, there's no "perfume") I had some spray too (lemon smell)

the mosquitoes here are silent and poisoned, got so much pain.

I use a combination of those raid plug ins and incense i got from India. I'm pretty sure you can find incense here that works.

i use the RAID plug in fogger in each room of my apartment and if im going out at night, i douse my socks and any white clothing on me with "Ben's 100", this illegal-in-most-states stuff you can find in a few outdoor shops in the states. 99.8% deet in a liquid solution. it burns the skin and turns all clothing white but mosquitoes dont dare come near me.

yeah i'll probably die soon but i wont be going out itching one goddamn mosquito bite.

I use a 'tennis racquet' that plugs into the wall (220V baby), charges, switch it on - zap go the bugs.

Its essentially a disguised bug zapper. Imagine the strings of the racquet replaced with a bug zapper. Its awesome!

Much more fun than using a fly-swatter - much more destructive too. Just watch the furniture boys and girls.

And yes, it does zap you if you touch it. Not one for the kiddies.

yes bellabella, yes it is... Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

I just read this on The SHanghai Daily website....
http://www.shanghaidaily.com/art/2005/09/06/159317/Information_about_p est_populations_published.htm

Quote:
Information about pest populations published
Cai Wenjun
2005-09-06 Beijing Time
EVERY district in the city will soon begin publishing information online about the number of rats, mosquitoes, flies and roaches living in their jurisdiction, to help residents better evaluate the work of health officials.

Jing'an became the first district in the city to publish the information, when it posted statistics on its Website (www.jasz.gov.cn) earlier this month. Currently the district doesn't have an English Website, but it is building one.

Other districts are still doing preparation work.

Go Jing' An Go!

They should also report the property developers. They're the biggest vermin in this district.

I wonder what the information on the number of mosquitoes will look like? We have 100,000,000,000 mosquitoes this week, down from 110,000,000,000 last week.

Make that one less in Pudong... *swat*

Yes, its true. In China, all the bad figures drop, and all the good figures rise!

It truly is a blessed country...! Wink

Just like Micah's observation that 6% of the world apparently watched 'Super Voice Girls'.

I'm afraid to say I watched a little of the final episode of that show (hey, the gf was watching it). What a pile of drek. What's worse is that one of the contestants was a terrible singer. This was made worse by the song selection being terrible. Yes, the songs were bad... but what was worse is that the songs were not suitable for the singers. Many of them were totally out of their vocal range.

re; incense.... I don't use the mosquito incense... that's really bad. I use the regular scented ones..... jasmine and green tea are the best. those mosquito incense are really bad... especially when you've got a child in the house.
