Post subject: How bad is Sato

Quote:

Sato insists Michael 'braked early'.
Mon 12 Sep, 5:06 PM

Takuma Sato is adamant that Michael Schumacher braked early when the pair made contact in the Belgian Grand Prix, the accident resulting in retirement for the German ace at a track where he has shone so often in the past.

The coming-together happened at a restart after the safety car, on the approach to the La Source hairpin. The BAR hit the Ferrari so hard that the rear wing folded up and its rear suspension collapsed, leaving both wheels hanging off the red car when Michael came to a halt at the corner. Schumacher went to see the stewards during the race, before making an early exit, and, after the flag, the officials gave Sato a ten-place grid penalty for the Brazilian GP.

"At the restart, Michael and I were trying to overtake a Jordan," Sato told Crash.net, "Michael was there in front of me, on the left was a Jordan and, on the right, we were very close to the pit wall. So I was kind of boxed and couldn't go anywhere.

"I was going to challenge him into turn one but, to me, it looked like he braked so early. I reacted and hit the brakes, but simply locked up the front wheels and contacted the back of his car. Basically, I couldn't decelerate like I wanted to, so it looked quite big."

Schumacher made a point of walking over to the Japanese driver and giving him a quick lecture - before hitting his visor.

"I couldn't hear what he said, he just flapped my visor," Taku revealed, "After that, I didn't have a chance to speak to him. It's very natural to understand that he was upset, but I was also disappointed. Obviously, I'm very sorry for that - in the circumstances, it's very easy to understand. But also the situation was incredible difficult."

The incident came at a bad time, since Sato's future with the BAR team remains in doubt. It's certainly clear that he is surplus to requirements if Jenson Button is able to stay but, if the Englishman leaves for Williams, Taku still has a tenuous hold at top of the reserve list, as sources say Honda still prefers him to Anthony Davidson.

I was in tears laughing at this article. TS thinks he knows how to drive better than Michael Shumacher. That the greatest F1 champion doesn't know how to go into a corner at Spa?

Sato has certainly wrecked more cars per race than any other driver in F1 history and he is saying MS braked to early. HAHAHAHHAAHHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAH

fcuk you can't buy comedy like this.

How shitty is Sato really, i mean, can we call him the worst ever? How many Jordans did he wreck in practice and racing, wasn't it something like 18?

I can't even count his mistakes at BAR. How did this idiot even get a drive.

The British media are still going on about how good Anthony Davidson is. Sato beat Davidson in British F3 as team mates.

Remember Indy last year, when Sato should have won if only BAR called him into the pits at the right time? I think the basic talent is there.

Sato does appear to have lost his confidence now though, as has Karthikeyan. Too much pressure being the only representative from their countries I guess.

My husband likes to call Sato a moving chicane. He's always good for a laugh, but he won't be here for long. He's only there now because of the sponsors he can bring. His driving ability isn't that much better than the rest of the also-rans.

According to Schumacher it was another 'hara-kiri reaction' from TS. Well I think TS has more qualities and talents than bumping and hitting other cars but he is not good enough for F1. I think many Shanghainese taxidrivers has the same driving skills as TS Smile As always it's the money thing, if you have a lot of sponsors, well buy a seat.

My driver is better than Sato. In fact, a couple of the Ferrari mechanics wondered if he could drive MS to the track, last year. He'd probably have gotten there quicker. Of course, he almost ran off the road when he realized there were Ferrari mechanics in the back seat.

No what i remember is an entire season of BARF having a vastly superior car to everyone else except Ferrari but not even having drivers good enough to win a single race the whole year.

It was sad, very sad. And the way the british media kept eating it up like they were great drivers was hilarious. You telling me if YPM, Kimi, DC, RBarichello or Alonso weren't in that BAR car that they wouldn't have won a race?

Sato was a complete joke at Jordan, the laughing stock of F1. Then to top if off his practice times were 2 to 3 seconds behind JV and Button at BAR and he ends up with a seat for two years. Big Time Joke and everyone knew it.

Sato is everything that is wrong with F1, second rate drivers at a top team never producing sh1t.

It is a joke and i am sick of reading about these idiots in the media. Look at the year DC had with Red Bull. What a great year he had. This was Webber's old team, now he goes to Williams and does nothing but he is supposed to be one of the top drivers. Look at JV at Saubar. He is outperforming his teammate and now he has more points them him as well, but massa (although a good young driver) is moving to Ferrari like he is the second coming.

What a load of bollocks! You cannot win the British F3 championship if you are that bad. Most people would struggle to get an F1 car out of the pits without stalling, so totally rediculous to belittle one by saying a taxi driver could do as well (I know you are joking Fedor). Did any of you read Peter Windsor's report of his test in a current Toyota in F1 Racing?

I agree Sato has had a very disappointing year this year. He has now had a couple of chances and indications are that he is out for next year. However anyone who gets anywhere near F1 is a very very good driver, and I think they all deserve more respect.

I hate this 'so and so is crap' rubbish. Why must we always belittle people?

JV outperforming Massa was a joke. Hahaha. I think Massa qualified in front of JV 70% of the times. Just because of 1 race JV is in front of him.

What a joke.

Now you are gonna tell me that Webber is better than Pizzonia too right. Oh yeah. Or Button. Joke. Pure crap.

Joking??? Me???

The thing is, TS performances are really bad this year. I'm sure some ppl who are in the F1 waiting room would have done better.

Well it's about 11 days and 5hours for next race in SaoPaolo so maybe we can have a positive talk about TS in 11 days and let's say 7 hours.

I agree that there are a few drivers in GP2 that would do a better job. Not convinced about Anthony Davidson though.

The problem with Taku is race craft not pure speed.

He doesn't have all the years of motorsport experience as the others. And there is no way to have natural talent in race craft, it just takes experience.

You look at all the races and he's always been there close with Button if not faster sometimes. What he has problem with is in the race with often poor decision in where to place his car in the traffic.

He won F3 in equal cars because he'll just put it on Pole and drive away. When the best your car can do is 8th-4th... it takes race craft to come out ahead.
