Post subject: Opportunity offered to Expat in Chinese State Owned Company

A Chinese head-hunter along with representative of a State Owned Company talk to me about a job opportunity. They have a very good reputation, are well known, very good western-orientated strategy and offered me a very Senior Position [similiar to Senior Vice President]. Salary is more then I would have expected; would any of you actually consider accepting a job offer for a Chinese State Owned Company given that the contract terms are simply speaking fantastic.

I think I would consider since they already approached me when I was working for their foreign competitor in Hong Kong.

Truth be told, I already have made up my mind but would be interested to hear from the group on this and curious to get opinions.

Anyone?

Why not accept? Whats the problem? You think they will be loaded with management problems because they are state-owned? Based on your description, sounds like a very good opportunity and very good experience to gain. You will be on the cover of Fortune soon if you do you PR properly.
