| Post subject: Golden cat, what is the story about it ? |
I have seen this golden cat with shaking hand everywhere here, in many shops and other places.
I wonder if there is a specific story about this cat ?
Why a cat ? why is he shaking hand ?
thanks

I think that's right.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the golden cat of Japanese origin? |

Yes, it's Japanese. Called maneki-neko (招き猫). |

The paw is beckoning customers to come into stores. The Chinese (and same in Japanese) 招 (zhao1, Japanese maneku) means to beckon. |
