illegal money exchangers standing outside Bank of China branches in Shanghai
Has anyone had experience with the "Huang Nui" or illegal money exchangers standing outside Bank of China branches in Shanghai?
I have several thousand RMB I need converted to USD. I have no documents regarding the money and would like to make a quick and easy transaction to get the funds I need.
What have your experiences been like with these outfitters? I mean, how do they operate? Is this my only option? |

I use them all the time. At BOC in Pudong one of these money changers even had it's own little desk in the entrance hall. A few thousand RMB is absolutely no problem, and they will most probably change it on the spot for you. For larger transactions 100k and more the procedure is different, and they use bank transfer. |

Yep I use them from time to time, I mainly go to the ones at the end of the Nanjing Rd area just across from the Bund, and I've never had any problems, it's quick and easy. |

they are fine to use (unknown) if you accompany them into the bank and take the money that they withdraw directly.
they don't work for BOC, but they pay a tribute to be able to "assist". |

i know someone who can change this with you, i usually exchange my money when i have to go somewhere, and the best thing is, it is near the bank that i know ppl who work there, they are able to check the money for me first, then i pay that exchange man. If you want i can give you the number and tell you where to get the money checked.very easy |
