Ok, first we have to find out where he is. There is an airport in Nanjing.

If he is in Shanghai, he can travel there by train or even bus. But i am not so familiar by bus, so here goes the train story.

You can get a ticket at the Shanghai Train Station. prices ranging for 40+RMB to 70+RMB. takes 3 - 5 hours to reach there depending on which type of train you take.

I can find out further info if you need more as my colleagues travel there rather frequently.
