Post subject: MBA Studies in China?

Hi all,

I have been thinking of trying my luck in Shanghai but I'm in the middle of an MBA which I would like to continue, I saw a while back someone post that a few courses where being taught in English, is there any links or advice out there...

I'm from the UK and the Open University offers an MBA by distance learning (a rather expensive option if I'm earning RMB) would I have any problems logging on to their website in Shanghai?

Thanks in advance

I suggest you finish your MBA at home because the quality of the studies is better and also the value of the certificate. If you want to finish the MBA here in Shanghai and you want quality it's going to be very expensive!

Thanks for the advice people but it looks like I'm coming to Shanghai!!

The Open University (on-line uni based in the UK, well respected) look like they are quite happy to accept me... I fancy a change and Shanghai sounds like the place to be... so here I come!!

hi toffee - as far as programs taught in english, i can suggest a few part-time emba options - not sure about full-time mba programs taught in english and where you will receive a foreign degree.

here are the foreign emba programs that i am aware of - most of them are from the u.s. though as that is my context. you will receive an mba degree from the u.s. school partner and as far as i know a certificate from the chinese university partner.

1. Washington Universtity, Olin School of Business - Fudan University http://www.olin.wustl.edu
2. USC - Qiaotong University (I think that is the chinese partner - someone please correct me)
3. CEIBS (China-Europe International Business School)
4. Rutgers (not sure who the Chinese university partner is)
5. MIT (not sure who the Chinese university partner is)

i believe there are more schools entering the market so someone might want to add to this info or correct anything that i have incorrectly posted. also, the tuition prices tend to be at a 60% discount from what you might pay if you took the program state-side. for example i believe that the Olin, Rutgers and USC program are in the $38-45K USD range for 1.5-2 year programs.

hopefully someone can add some additional information.

hope this helps =)
