| Post subject: Getting a study visa in Hong Kong |
Hello is it possible to get a student visa in Hong Kong (for mainland China) if I am not a Chinese citizen. I know that people can get tourist visas there, but I have never read of anyone getting a student visa so I would like to make sure so that I do not waste time and money in flying there.
Also I have never been to Hong Kong so I am wondering about the language barrier. Would the taxi drivers understand basic things like what airport to go to and what emabssy? OR should I write these things down in advance?
Thank you in advance for your help. |

Hong Kong taxi drivers I have met can understand pretty much what you tell them. Still, you might be unlucky and get a driver who doesn't understand (or maybe your pronunciation isn't correct) so having address written down is a good idea. All drivers understand "airport," but why would you want to go to the old one? By default all taxi drivers would take you to the new one.
You can get "X" student visas in Hong Kong. Make sure your school has given you all the proper paperwork, though, or you may have problems. |
