| Post subject: ShanghaiExpat Wednesday Night Mixer |
The Shanghai Expat Wednesday Night Mixer is held EVERY week for Expats and their friends who are looking to meet new freinds and old, away from the typical bar scene.
The Event which started back in 2004 and moved to Malones in February 2005, has been a regular event held at The Loft on the 3rd floor of Malones American Cafe and Bar. The entire bar is booked for this event everyweek for the use and enjoyment of our Shanghai Expat members and guests.
Come enjoy this spacious venue with friends where all standard drinks are only 25rmb!
So come on out to join us at ShanghaiExpat's Wedneday Night Mixers! And bring your friends!
Wednesday Nights 9pm-12midnight
3rd Floor of Malones American Cafe and Bar
255 Tong Ren Rd, between Nanjing Rd and Beijing Rd.

Oh, you mean you actually wanted answers to those frequently asked questions?
The event is held as an opportunity to allows expats and their friends to come out and enjoy meeting up wioth old friends and making new friends. It is NOT meant to be a place for business solicitations, language learning/practice etc. ShanghaiExpat is a predominantly Expatriate based membership, but there are local mambers who contribute to the communuity and so fo course they are welcome as well.
I beleive the first thread ALSO lists the location on the poster and the bottom of the post. this info will be repeated however regularly on the pages to follw to make it easier to find.
Come alone or come with friends. The point of a mixer is to allow peoplethe chance to meet up with others. Most expats are "mildly displaced" people and so we tend to be pretty easy to meet. So make the effort and come on out. Meet some people or if you find that challenging, come find one of the hosts and they will get you started.
We have run into occassions where people have come for the wrong reasons. If that is the case, as it is a privately held event, we do reserve the right not to welcome anyone that has an agenda not condusive to the spirit of this event. |

lol, I was snuggled up in my little corner - I didn't stay for long because I had to attend to the 'wife' at home... A bit gutted really, but... the good news is I will come again, stay longer, and introduce myself!
It is my birthday today, so at midnight after I got home, there was a very nice surprise waiting for me
- 3rd edit  If I made myself more known on this occasion, I know it would have ended in tears (and vomit)... I am so sorry Hobo... was looking forward to the cigars |
