Bluecheese, in reference to I must be doing something wrong, it was an episode from a while ago series 6 episode 12 and ongoing episodes, I checked the seeds, the health of the torrent, connected through router( not WiFi) and left it running through the night. I have no idea what to do to speed it up ( ports n all that gibberish) plus Im quite security conscious of what gets through - so any ideas????
What i could do with is an expert to set it up. |

I'm late to this thread...
I'm kind of interested in what kind of rates do you all get downloading popular shows like Lost for example....?
With no network traffic, one of my mates with an identical configuration can get up-to 200Kb/s download, whereas I struggle to get more than 50-60Kbs/s download under similar conditions. In fact, I tend to upload faster than my download rate (Any advice would be appreciated on this).
Fill in the following...
Provider: China Telecom (Shanghai)
Location: Near Jing'an Temple
Plan: ADSL 1.5MB/256kB (upload/download)
Torrent Client: Azureus
General Download Rate: <50kBbs
General Upload Rate: 60-70kBs
Platform: Mac OSX
cheers,
crikey
[edited to correct kB vs kb confusion] |
Im getting around 14 kb/s download speed on a 2mb connection in Luwan district, any ideas how to speed things up? very unhappy its been downloading an episode of 24 all day now |

TopEastie, you can join Demonoid every Friday! It's easy |
Are you sure? I've been checking the site all day yesterday (our Friday) and today (US Friday) to no avail.
I guess it doesn't matter too much anymore as I found the DVDs last night in this awesome store in Hongqiao/Gubei (I don't know which one is which!). I've never been out there before by the way, I now know where all the expats live!
Unfortunately, the joy I was looking forward to in watching the DVDs was ruined by the crazy bout of food poisoning. I knew there was a reason I didn't eat Western food in this town! Head hung over the toilet like a drunken college student is not a nice way to spend a night, especially since I don't even drink!!
But wahoo for the DVDs tonight! |

With 2Mb ADSL 256KB/s a sec is the maximum, however, you will never see that. 246KBs is pretty damn good! |

Problem is now that Shanghai is throttling bitTorrent from US and abroad. I have VOIP and it works perfectly unless i have BT open. Whenever I download a torrent now my MSN will disconnect every 5 minutes, really quite annoying. I know about encryption but most of what I have tried does not work. |

But what does not make sense to me, I watch live NFL, MLB, NHL games on P2P torrent sites and I download at 800KB/sec no problem. They have their own built in connection. Here is the link to their site....
http://www.myp2p.eu/
almost like watching it live on TV, very very clear, 100 times better than what I get while watching my Dad's slingbox from US. |

I'm trying to download "ancient" musics, found some over torrendpond, but it seems the torrents are too old and I couldn't download it. The musics I'm looking for is: Carpenters, Mamas & Papas, Beach Boys, etc., yes I know, it's old, but lovely musics, any one knows sites that has good seeds for above musics?
Thanks in advance for your comments. |

Call me lazy but I'd rather just pay someone 100rmb to come remedy my slow downloading Azureus (months ago BitComet was downloading at 100kb/s then suddenly stopped working...) so that it downloads at 200kb/s, not 2kb/s as it does now.
Any takers? |

Any new updates in here, generally speaking?
I'm looking for HD / BluRay Movie content, anyone got good recommendations for that? |

I spent 9 hours downloading 220 Mb of Marylin Manson's greatest stuff............. only to find out that the content I got was live concert material. How do you only get original works? I'd like to filter the stuff I'm 'borrowing' and re-seeding only to original works (i.e. CD releases). |
