Post subject: Shanghai Bookstores

Hi, I'm new to Shanghai and I did not bring many books with me from the U.S. when I came here. I like to read quite a bit, but have not had much luck at the couple of bookstores I've been to. The ones I went to would only have maybe like 2-3 shelves of English books, and they were mostly classics like "Robinson Crusoe" and stuff. Does anyone know of any bookstores that have better selections of books in English? Could you give me the address? That would be very helpful, thanks in advance.

Yes, I think that's all the bookstore you'll need although there are other sources. And Amazon is extremely efficient also. Takes just 4-5 days from the UK. I assume the same from US.

There are a few good stores around Shanghai.

The largest is the Foreign Languages Bookstore.
390 Fuzhou Lu - 390 福州路 (not to far from Nanjing East Metro Stop)

The 1st floor has Chinese learning and popular books, a rather large selection. The 4th floor has even more books for traveling, classics, slightly older releases, and kids

Another good one is a Bookstore on Wuding Road
555 Wuding Lu - 555 武定路

Has a smaller selection, but has some books you won't find at a Chinese bookstore. Also, it is a sister store to about 5 others spread around Shanghai. If you go there you can get a bookmark with all of the stores on it.
