Post subject: office and apartment locations ...

Hi

I posted in the wrong location before and wanted to post again to ask a few of you your opinion regarding office and apartment locations.

My wife and I will be moving to Shanghai in the next few months. I will set up and office and would of course like to live somewhere close by.

I will be working with factories outside the Shanghai area; Changshu, Jiaxin, Pinghu, Jinshan Fengxian are the locations for the factories.

Although my wife and I currently live in Guangzhou area we are new to Shanghai and don't know the area well. Are there areas that would be convienent to access highways to limit travel time hassles a bit?

Originally I was looking at the Shanghaimart as a location for the office and the Tower apartments adjacent. But as we are just now considering our options, any advice and/or opinion would be appreciated.

Thank you!

I think that the Hong Qiao area you have chosen is a good location for you. Mind you, access to the highways will be slow during rush hour. If you live in a more remote area you will have easier access to highways but then your quality of life won't be as good insofar as access to expatriate services, good infrastucture, entertainment and social areas such as bars, restaurants etc.

Good apartment blocks in this area would be Regent Tower, Hong Qiao Guest House Apartments, Kingscourt, Perfect Garden, Xi Jiao Hotel Apartments, Yanlord Riverside, Windsor Court, Sassoon Park Apartments. There are also a few blocks in the Gubei New Area Phase Two that are worth considering.

If you need any assistance at all then please do get in touch.

All the best with your move.
