Anyone know any? I tried Air Asia and Tiger and no luck. But there are a lot of "low cost" model airlines in Asia and I don't know them all.
Specifically, I need a cheap flight out of Shanghai . . . preferably to Manila or Cebu. I've got a Philippine beach tour on the agenda (Aug 25 +/-) and only need to get to one of the main cities and I'll be good to go from there.
The main sites are all showing 4500 rmb+ . . . can anyone offer me some guidance please? A legitimate 'low cost" carrier should be 400-1200 rmb max for a one-way flight to the Philippines.
Thanks. |

Air Asia flies from:
Kuching to several points in Malaysia
Macua to Bangkok, and several point in Malaysia
Shenzhen to BKK and KL
Xiamen to BKK
Yangon to BKK
Lot's of transfers, but cheap flights.

I found flights in December for 500CNY one way.
Only route from Shanghai is to Manila. |
Thanks for the response.
I tried 7 different dates for Shanghai-Manila and I always got the following response:
Sorry, we couldn’t process your request. Please see what went wrong below. The message will be in red.
There are no flights on the route selected
Any idea what gives? It seems like a good idea if there were actually real flights on Shanghai - Manila......I'm confused. |

Thanks....yeah, I am considering Shenzhen to BKK as a 3rd or 4th choice. But I really want to go to Philppines.
And also, how easy is it to go from Shanghai to Shenzhen? |

Cebu pacific flights to Philippines will only start on September or October if i'm right. Definitely you will get an error if you book earlier than September. |

Aha! That explains it. Do you happen to know what date in September the service begins? |

there are new flights from Shanghai to Cebu on China Southern airlines that started on July 27th. I have not been able to get a price from Shanghai yet. they appear to be charter so going through the right travel agent may the key I tried calling China southern and they gave me a price of 8,800 RMB which is crazy. Can get this flight from Cebu for US$510 return and US$295 one way. Please if anybody can find a cheap travel agent I'm interested. |

I've found out it's Sept 12th. So this won't work for me, but at least this thread has been helpful, hopefully, and people will now know they can get Cebu Pacific flights, inexpensively, after 12Sep. |

It's not a "low cost" airline, but elong.net has flights listed from Shanghai to Manila for 2090 RMB. More expensive than the lower prices you listed, but definitely cheaper than 4500+RMB. |

Upon further review, it is still a terrific site, but it's outdated.
No Thai Air Asia? Singapore? Indonesia? No Tiger Airways in Philippines or Macau? They just need to update it is all. |
