The previous PM Koizumi was a hard act to follow. Abe had none of his popularity and his cabinet suffered a series of resignations and scandals. The LDP has held power for a long long time in Japan and often there are LDP politicians groupong together to control the PM. Koizumi was able to ignore them Abe was not. |
