I'm moving to Shanghai in September and I'm looking for some people and a place to train Muay Thai. Has everyone agreed to train at one gym or are we more or less spread out?
The more the merrier - I always found it easier to stay motivated when I train with a group, especially with conditioning ... |

Hi,
Just boxing or is Kickboxing ok with you too?
I know one place: 120 an hour or 900 a month.
I'm looking for an MMA partner to practice sparring.
A good venue is hard to find but a park would be ok. Also thought about using a gym in a uni.
Anyway let me know. |

hi there,
i am also looking for some training partners who want to do some MT sparring and MMA. currently I am into BJJ, because there is NO NO quality MT trainer here in Shanghai, trust me on this one OR tell me different.
I am here for 6 month now and still can't find any good training gym, and I don't mean this kickboxing, sanda, yoga kind of stuff.
it doesn't look like after 15 month of discussion there is anything going on, isn't it?
Cheers.. |

| Post subject: Any boxing gyms? |
Hi -
Just looking to find out if anyone has had success in finding a ring and/or boxing gym anywhere in Shanghai.
Have all gear and looking to do some light sparring to stay in shape, but can't find anywhere to work out.
Pudong area would be a plus. |

Xiaolong boxing club, great great place for boxing instruction. It's in Hongkou stadium., 3rd floor, entrance # 21 I think. Lots of people to spar with. You pay for a certain number of visits. I'm pretty sure they'd let you get a trial class in if you are interested, or you could just go to watch. Classes are Sun., Mon., Wed., and Fri. from 7:00 - 8:30pm. Line 3 lets off right in Hongkou stadium, so its immensely convenient IMO. A few foreigners who come and go as well. |

Who saw Bernard Hopkins at age 43 absolute dominate and outclass the 26 year old world middleweight champ Kelly Pavlik? This guy is a throwback, old school living legend in the ring. |

Hi all,
Am responding to any interested sparring partners. I'll be doing some personal training for people in Pudong for people interested in learning martial arts or getting in great shape. If you're at an advanced level already I'd be happy be a sparring partner. I have nearly 20 yrs experience in several different styles. Any kind of sparring is fine. Always looking for a good group to work out with and keep sharp. I'm not concerned about a location. Park or Gym is fine.

Just noticed the original post is three years old. Has anyone actually found any decent boxing or muy thai training or sparring clubs here???? And I don't mean personal training bs. If so, I'd be very interested. |

Still looking for one, I tried Ozbodyfit, I definitively think it's over priced, no ring, only one punching bag and a trainer who told me to stance as the complete opposite of my previous trainer... Actually I rather trust him due to his past!
So I'm still looking..
I live near total fitness club, but it look really dark in there, is there any good deal in shanghai regarding sport? |

I'm still looking myself.
I'd be up for any kind of sparring/training- boxing, kickboxing, muay thai, MMA, sub grappling, BJJ, judo, sanda- heck I'll even do karate or tkd point sparring if that's what it takes to get people out of the woodwork and me out of the house. Any one else?
I'm in Xuhui, on Wuzhong road if anyone is close to there. |

Hello,
My name is Mike. I'm a boxing trainer. I've been in boxing for more than 20 years... I used to work in Vancouver,Canada as a personal trainer many years.
If your interested in leaning from a Professional...than your in luck!
I have many Amateur and Pro fights. And I have trained many people, some of them have even competed and won!
Maybe you are familliar with "White Collar Boxing"? They have had 2 events so far, and maybe more to come. The last one wasd help at the Sheraton in Pudong several months ago.
I had trained the two oldest fighters in that event. And they both "Kicked Ass"!
Send me an email with your goals and info on training if you have had any before. my email is ttmgautreau@hotmail.com
Both females and males are welcome! Get into the best shape of your life.
