Post subject: Need your suggestion with regards to visa of my

My company in Shanghai is sending me the employment license, which I will use to get a Z visa. My spouse will come to Shanghai with me. He does not have a visa nor a job yet and it seems that he has two options in terms of getting his visa to China:

1. He comes with me as my spouse under my Z visa ( I do not know what type of visa is that)
2. He comes with a tourist visa

I want to know whether it is easy to transfer his visa in option 1 to a independent working visa if he finds a job in Shanghai.

Also, is it hard to renew his tourist visa in Shanghai if he choose to come in the 2nd option.

It's easy and cheap. It's also only good for 30 days.

have him come with you under your Z visa. that will save time and effort regarding renewals and entry stays. when he finds a job, he can apply for his own Z visa, provided the company is able to legally hire foreigners.

Yep, Magnolia gave the right advice. Go for the spouse visa, and sort the rest out later once he gets a job.
