Post subject: Hotels on Chongming Island
Hi Newbie here.

I am a telecoms engineer based in the UK.

I will be travelling to Chongming on an extended stay for work from 1st Dec 07 until Feb 08.

I and my colleagues are struggling to find any info on hotels on Chongming on the web, and wondered if anyone on this forum could help.

I understand that it wont really be possible to travel on a daily basis from Shanghai, as it would be at least a 2 hour + trip one way each via the ferry etc.

Does anyone have any info on the hotels or self catering apartments on Chongming island, or could point me in the direction of maybe a travel agent in Shanghai who may be able to help.

Had a mate who worked in a shipyard in chongming, says it was pretty grim and no decent hotels or bars.
