Post subject: Boxing / Martial arts gyms?

Does anyone know of any Boxing or Martial Art's gyms in Shanghai (preferably in or around Yangpu area)? I'm not looking for a regular gym with boxing equipment or some power boxing aerobic classes, but a real boxing or martial arts gym. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Good luck, hope it works for you. My 4 year old son does WuShu there and the guys seem friendly, although I would imagine that you are a different level to my son!

Hi!

Do you guys know how much the kickboxing class costs for beginners (including equipment)?

Kindly let me know.

Thanks!

I checked out Longwu yesterday. I don't think they charge by class, there seem to be flat registration fees. It is less for kids. For adults, 3 months 1500RMB, 6 months=2600, 1 year=4800. These prices are comparable to what I paid a boxing club in the US which had about 5 times as many classes, and far, far superior facilities. By comparable I mean almost exactly equal. Anyway, these are seriously inflated prices. However, I have yet to find a comparable alternative, so it might be a justifiable price. I'm going to check out the Xiaolong Boxing club tonight from 7-8:30pm. They are cheaper and the facilities might even be better than LongWu.

Any MMA or brazilian jiu-jitsu places? I am looking for nothing more than a mat with guys who actually know what they're doing and will offer guidance and training and keep people from choking each other out or breaking bones.

Would be great if on Puxi side.
